Here is a beautiful blessing for you to do with your families today or 6th.
Do you celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany by blessing your home? If not, this is a beautiful tradition to start! I wrote this Blessing of the Home on the Epiphany of the Lord with my dear friends Marcie Buckle, Stephanie Clouatre Davis and Missy DeVillier. The directions and prayer are below. I pray that your home may be a place of abundant blessings!
Blessing of the Home on the Epiphany of the Lord
On the Feast of the Epiphany, which the Church celebrates on January 2nd this year and is historically celebrated on the 6th, sprinkle each room of the home with Holy Water or use chalk to write this blessing over or beside the door of your home:
20+C+M+B+22
"C", "M", "B" are the initials of the three wise men: Caspar, Melichor, and Baltazar.
It also signifies these Latin words: Christus mansionem benedicat (May Christ Bless This House).
Blessing of the Home
May this home be a safe space and a refuge for all those who dwell here.
May this home be a welcome place for all those who visit.
May all who live here know Christ's infinite gift of Love and Mercy.
May all who dwell here know that they are not alone as God dwells within them.
May all who enter through our doors encounter God through our words and actions.
May all who leave walk out with increased Hope.
May all be nurtured by the Peace of God beyond all understanding and be sent forth as messengers of Joy from this home.
Amen.
