Sunday Reflection: The Meekness of Christ
In a world dominated by the powerful and strong, no one wants to be seen as weak or easily taken advantage of. Our culture is quick to use the label “meek” for people who seem submissive or unassuming, but God paints a different picture of meekness—one that’s strong yet gentle, unselfish, and kind.

As He was being led to the cross, Jesus didn’t argue or demand to be understood. Nor did He take advantage of His power as the Son of God (Phil. 2:6-7). Instead, our Savior humbled Himself, giving His life so we could become like Him (Phil. 2:8; Rom. 8:29). And He prayed for the forgiveness of the very people who nailed His body to the cross (Luke 23:34). Imagine if we truly embraced this as our model for meekness—displaying grace and humility at all times, even when the world around us says we shouldn’t. How would life be different?

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will heal their land.

Today's Prayer
Glory be to You Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. I pray for a closeness to You like I have never felt before. Lord, I seek Your face and desire Your will. Please increase my thirst for Your presence. While You will always be my heavenly Father, and I Your child through the blood atonement of Jesus Christ, I pray that You will help me to stay close and to flee from sin, that our fellowship will not be strained by sin. Lord, I ask You to bring to my mind any sin that I may repent and turn fully to You. Thank You. I love, respect, appreciate, and lift up my praise to You God, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Today's Prayer
Dear God, Help me. Please give me wisdom in how to deal with difficult people. Help me to understand why they are being difficult. Is it a personal problem? Are they experiencing something that has them irritable? Have they been abused or betrayed by someone? Do they have physical or mental health problems? What can I say or do to help the situation? Help me to speak and act in the way that will show your love in action. Help me to be the example and to do what is right, in whatever circumstance arises. Please anoint me, give me strength, give me words to say--or keep me from saying things I should not. Please work through me to defuse the situations and bring peace to all. I pray that the outcome will be your will. Thank you for your power and presence in my life...and in facing the challenges to come. In the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, I pray. Amen.

Today's Prayer

"Hear my cry, O God: Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me. A strong tower form the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings" (Psalm 61:1-4). Please calm my soul and be my shelter always. I praise You and worship You, Almighty God and loving Father. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for who You are and all You have done and all You will do, from moment to moment and age to age. You are worthy of honor and praise and glory. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

The Purpose of the Desert

God knows the stubborn human heart. He knows that if He is to accomplish His deepest work, He must take us into the desert in order to give us the privilege to be used in His Kingdom. In the desert God changes us and removes things that hinder us. He forces us to draw deep upon His grace. The desert is only a season in our life. When He has accomplished what He wants in our lives in the desert, He will bring us out. He has given us a mission to fulfill that can only be fulfilled after we have spent adequate time in preparation in the desert. Fear not the desert, for it is here you will hear God's voice like never before. It is here you become His bride. It is here you will have the idols of your life removed. It is here you begin to experience the reality of a living God like never before. Someone once said, "God uses enlarged trials to produce enlarged saints so He can put them in enlarged places!"
