The Truth About Halloween: A Biblical Perspective
Many see Halloween as harmless fun — costumes, candy, and parties.
But behind the masks lies a deeper truth. Halloween’s roots trace back to Samhain, a festival of the dead — a night focused on fear, spirits, and darkness.
As believers, we’re called to shine light where darkness dwells.
“Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” — Ephesians 5:11
The spiritual realm is real.
When we glorify fear, death, and witchcraft, we open doors God warns us to keep shut (Deuteronomy 18:10–12)
Jesus said, “I am the light of the world.” We can’t mix light with darkness (John 8:12).
So what should we do?
We can stand apart — not in judgment, but in truth.
Instead of joining Halloween celebrations, use the night to share love, light, and the Gospel.
Host a “Light Night,” pray for your neighbors, and let your home shine with peace and joy.
Protect your children by teaching discernment early.
Help them understand that not everything fun is good for the soul.
Choose faith over fear. Choose truth over tradition.
On October 31st, remember this:
Rejecting Halloween isn’t fear — it’s faith.
We walk as children of the light (Ephesians 5:8).
