"Oh, Immanu El - Yahweh God with us!
Exploring the creation account in Genesis deepens our understanding of Yahweh God. In these verses, we discover His might, eternity, sovereignty, creativity, love, and holiness. As we delve into the unfolding of creation, we witness the power of His spoken word—a mere utterance that commanded unwavering obedience from all of creation. Genesis Chapter 1 echoes with the resounding phrase "Yahweh God Said" seven times, each time resulting in the fulfillment of His command—light, the expanse of the sky, the gathering of waters, the emergence of vegetation, the lights in the sky, living creatures in seas and skies, and animals filling the earth—all brought into existence by His words.
Remarkably, when it came to humanity, Yahweh God chose a more intimate approach. Instead of merely speaking them into existence, He personally formed man, Adam, from the dust of the ground. Utilizing His own creation, He crafted Adam in His image and likeness—setting man apart as something special. This uniqueness stemmed not from potential but from being created in the image of the One who had recently spoken everything into existence. Post-creation, Yahweh God did not distance Himself. Genesis Chapter 3 recounts Adam and Eve hearing Yahweh God walking in the Garden, evidencing His continued presence among His creation.
However, Genesis Chapter 3 also introduces the heartbreaking sin of Adam and Eve, leading to the separation of Yahweh God from His created image bearers. The unity they once had with their Creator was disrupted, paving the way for sin and death to infiltrate the world. Yet, amidst this, the prevailing theme is Yahweh God's love. Despite casting them out of the garden, He already had a plan for restoration. This plan involved using the seed of a woman to crush the head of the devil.
Throughout the Old Testament, we encounter Yahweh God's declarations, leading to a crucial moment in history. The Word of Yahweh God would be placed inside a virgin named Mary. The Creator of everything chose to dwell within His own creation. As the writer in Hebrews beautifully expresses, 'A body you have prepared for me,' emphasizing that Yahweh God prepared a body for His Unique Son, Yeshua "Jesus". Yahweh God with us—why? To redeem those created in His image. Just as He was the sole creator of Adam, He would also be the sole creator of a New Creation and the sole Redeemer of His created beings born as slaves to sin. This redemption involves restoring His image bearers back to His likeness, as highlighted in 1 John 4:17.
“By this love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment, because just as that one is, so also are we in this world.”
Yeshua "Jesus", who is Yahweh God in the flesh, embodies the humility and exaltation described in Philippians 2:5–7
“ Think this in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, existing in the form of God, did not consider being equal with God something to be grasped, but emptied himself
by taking the form of a slave, by becoming in the likeness of people. And being found in appearance like a man”
Romans 8:3 reveals that what the law, weakened by human frailty, could not achieve, Yahweh God accomplished. He sent His own Son, taking on the likeness of sinful flesh and addressing the issue of sin, thereby condemning it in human form.
This condemnation in the flesh led to His enduring a painful and gruesome death, undertaken on our behalf and to bring glory to the Father. He faced public humiliation on a cross, was laid to rest in a tomb, but by the power of the One who spoke everything into existence, just as in the creation, He obeyed and rose with unmatched power! Yeshua, Yahweh God, is the Savior! To those who put their trust in His Name, He brings salvation!"Through Yeshua "Jesus", believers are reconciled back to the Father. The redeemed can confidently proclaim, 'Oh Immanu El, Yahweh God with Us!' His presence is not just with us but lives within His Redeemed children, referred to as the children of Yahweh God. Gratitude is extended to Yahweh God, now our Father, as those in Christ are also in Yahweh God (Colossians 1:12–14). The source of joy, peace, hope, and love resides in this profound reality.
Oh, Immanu El - Yahweh God with us!”
