There’s a story of a sheep in Australia named Chris. Chris had wandered off from his flock years earlier and nobody noticed. When he was finally found, his wool hadn’t been sherd in so long that it weighed 89 pounds- more than the sheep itself. He could barely walk. He wasn’t in danger because he rebelled against the shepherd.He was in danger because nobody was watching, and he just drifted. One step at a time, day, after day , until he was carrying a burden that would eventually have killed him.
In this bible study we will examine Isaiah 53:6 how the iniquity of us all was laid on the Messiah.
It must be noted that Isaiah 53 is also read within the Jewish tradition as describing Israels suffering among the nations rather than an individual messianic figure.

When the followers of Jesus saw Him hanging on the cross it looked to them that His story had ended.

We all want freedom, freedom to express ourselves, freedom to be who we are, but is the freedom to do what we want always the right thing to do? In 1 Corinthians 6:12 Paul exposes the fact that when what we are doing becomes our master we forfeit our freedom. The question is yes I can do it but should I do it?

NIC New Testament:
As before, the gospel itself is at stake, not simply the resolution of an ethical question. The Corinthian pneumatics’ understanding of being people of the Spirit has allowed them a false view both of freedom [“everything is permissible”} and of the body {“God will destroy it”}, from which basis they have argued that going to prostitutes is permissible because the body doesn’t” matter.

Have you ever been so discouraged that you wanted to give up believing that may be you’re in the wrong place and what you’re experience at doing is not working. In Luke 5:5 Peter responds to Jesus words after a night of toil and coming up with nothing. Peter would discover that one word from Jesus can change the outcome of any situation.
