THEN & NOW | A CHRISTMAS MESSAGE OF HOPE
THEN:
A promise was spoken in darkness— “Unto us a Child is born… The Prince of Peace.” — Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)
NOW:
That promise is fulfilled. Immanuel—God with us. Hope has a name, and His name is Jesus. Matthew 1:23 (KJV)
TODAY:
In a world still searching for peace, we declare that Jesus has overcome. His presence gives us light, strength, and victory.
🎄 MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄
Then and Now—Our Hope Remains the Same.

Invitation to Bless Families This Christmas Season

The Sanctuary @ Gilead International Ministries warmly invites you to join us in spreading love and joy this Christmas season by helping to feed families in need. We are collecting canned goods, dry perishable foods, and donations of turkeys, hams, and/or hens to prepare holiday meals for those in our community.

How You Can Help:

Drop-Off Times: Sundays at 9:45 AM during our Fellowship Hour.

Location: The Sanctuary @ Gilead, 3418 Dogwood Drive, Hapeville, Georgia 30354.

Deadline: Sunday, December 22, 2024.

We welcome everyone to contribute and make a difference. Together, we can bless many families with the joy of a warm meal and a sense of love this holiday season.

If you are seeking a church family or a place to worship and grow, we also extend an open invitation to join our Fellowship. At The Sanctuary @ Gilead, our Missionary Statement is at the heart of all we do:
TO WIN THE LOST; DISCIPLE THE FOUND; MEND THE BROKEN; AND SEND THE WHOLE.

Here, we encourage everyone to Choose L.I.F.E. — Live In Full Expectations of God's Word and Promises.

We look forward to meeting you, sharing fellowship, and celebrating the joy of giving together.

Blessings,
Pastor Everett B. Slay and The Sanctuary @ Gilead Family

🌟🍁 Happy Thanksgiving from The Sanctuary @ Gilead International Ministries! 🍁🌟

Today, we pause to reflect on the countless blessings God has poured into our lives. As we gather around tables with family and friends, let us remember to lift our voices in gratitude to the One who provides all good things.

At The Sanctuary, we are deeply thankful for each of you—our family of faith. Whether near or far, you are part of a ministry that is winning the lost, discipling the found, mending the broken, and sending the whole! Together, we LIVE IN FULL EXPECTATIONS of God's promises, and His love continues to unite and sustain us.

This Thanksgiving, may your homes be filled with joy, your hearts with peace, and your souls with thanksgiving. Let’s give God our loudest praise, for He is worthy of it all!

“Oh, give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good: for His mercy endureth forever.” – Psalm 107:1 (KJV)

We love you, we’re praying for you, and we thank God for YOU!

With grateful hearts,
Pastor Everett B. Slay and The Sanctuary @ Gilead Family 💜

Greetings, Facebook family and friends! Celebrate with me and The Sanctuary at Gilead International Ministries Church as we praise God for blessing us to be in our building for two years. As a proud pastor, I can testify that I have never had to ask my members for extra money to pay the rent.

The Sanctuary at Gilead International Ministries welcomes, Reverend Dr. Frederick Dyer and Grace Covenant Ministries Church Family as our special guest.

Messenger’s Message: IF IT AIN’T ONE THING, IT’S ANOTHER (Choose L.I.F.E Series)

Job 1:20 – 22 “Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.”

Today we come to explore the depths of our faith and find solace in the face of life’s challenges. The Bible often reminds us that trials and tribulations are an inevitable part of our earthly journey. This year you are and will face some challenges that you will not like. Nor, would you understand the gravity of those challenges. Your relationship with friends and loved one will diminish. Jobs will have some uncertainties. Money going to be acting funny. And hurst wheels will keep on rolling. There will be days in this year when just getting out of bed will become challenging. You put on your slippers and before you know you put the right on the left foot and the left on the right foot. If It Ain’t One Thing, It’s Another. You go in the bathroom and turn on the light and the lightbulb blow. You change the light bulb and go and use the toilet, then the toilet won’t flush. I stopped in to tell you that IF IT AIN’T ONE THING, IT’S ANOTHER.

POINT 1: JOB’S UNFATHOMABLE LOSS Job 1:20 – 22 “Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.” Job’s immediate response was worship, acknowledging God’s sovereignty. Evan in his grief, Job recognized that everything ultimately belongs to God.

POINT 2: JOSEPH’S PIT OF DESPAIR Genesis 37:29, 34 “And Reuben returned unto the pit; and behold, Joseph was not in the pit; and he rent his clothes. And Jacob rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his loins, and mourned for his son many days.” Joseph’s story reminds us that sometimes challenges come from unexpected sources, even those close to us. In the pit of despair, Joseph’s faith and character were refined for a greater purpose.

POINT 3: THE VANITY OF WEALTH Psalms 49:17 “For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.” Wealth, while providing temporary comfort, cannot shield us from the challenges of L.I.F.E. Our ultimate treasure is in the Lord, who offers eternal security.

POINT 4: GOD’S SOVEREIGN GRACE Matthew 20:15 “Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?” God’s ways are higher than our ways, and His plans may not always align our expectation. Trusting in God’s sovereign grace helps us navigate life’s challenges.

POINT 5: CONTENTMENT IN GODLINESS 1st Timothy 6:7 “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.” True contentment is found in godliness rather than the accumulation of worldly goods. Our focus should be on eternal values and the Kingdom of God.

Reflecting on the theme, “If It Ain’t One Thing, It’s Another,” let us remember that our faith is tested in the crucible of life’s challenges. Whether we face loss, betrayal, or the fleeting nature of wealth, our anchor remains secure in God’s unchanging love and sovereignty. May we, like Job, worship in the midst of our trials, trusting that God’s plan is greater than our understanding. Let our heart find contentment in godliness, knowing that our treasure is laid up in heaven. Amen.
