“Get FAT” - we asked our staff what advice they had for people going on outreach for the first time and we definitely weren’t expecting that answer!
Staying Flexible, Adaptable, and Teachable is such good advice for life but especially for outreach in a new culture. Lean in! Outreach isn’t just a fun trip - we’re carriers of the Gospel so we want to do this WELL!
It starts with a simple yes. Keep that heart of willingness and you’re golden.

Sometimes missions looks like eating bowl after bowl of spicy soup on the floor as you go house to house. Sniffling as your nose runs and praying for families who don’t yet follow Jesus is a privilege. We go because they don’t yet know. We go as a living invitation to more - to life - to freedom - as living invitations to join God’s party and eat His meal.

Have you ever shared the story of Jesus with someone who has never heard it before? Seriously SO FUN and such a privilege to carry the LOVE of Jesus to people who have never had a chance to know Him!

We’re often invited inside, meet with families, and share about Jesus, the cross, and His great love for them. The vast majority of these new friends are resettled refugees that have recently made the U.S. their home. What a sweet honor it is to know them.
We love ATLANTA!!!

With broken hearts we share with you that our beloved friend and staff member Jonathan Weister passed away on November 24, 2024. Jonathan was a loyal friend, a humble servant, a lover of the Bible, an evangelist, and a devoted follower of Jesus. He will be deeply missed by our YWAM Atlanta family and many around the world.

Please pray for Jonathan’s family and community as we all grieve this tragic loss.

We will share his obituary and arrangements when they’re available.

Evangelism—is it really that important?
The word "evangelism" comes from the Greek word for gospel (euangelion) which means "good news." In the Bible, Jesus tells a parable (Luke 14) about a man hosting a dinner and instructing his servant to tell those who had been invited to come because everything was ready for them. But, one by one, they all came up with excuses for why they couldn't come! The man was angry and told the servant to invite those on the streets of the city. When there was still more room, the man said to invite even those on the outskirts of the city. These were the rejected ones, the poor, the blind, the lame, and the crippled.

The man says to the servant to COMPEL them to come in, so that his house may be FULL. God desires all people to be saved, and He's entrusted US with the task to share the good news and bring people into His Kingdom!

One preacher said, "The devil is more after souls than many Christians are." But we can change that! 💥 Let's say "YES" to Jesus's call to be His hands and feet in this broken world. How is God challenging you to spread His good news?? We'd love to hear your thoughts, DM us or comment below!

This week, our team invites you to for university students across the globe. These are future world leaders, teachers, entrepreneurs... people who are leading the next generation! May God use young people to bring the gospel to the many spheres of society, to bring the light of salvation into dark places.

This week our team has been in prayer for the country of Mozambique. This year, Islamic State militants raided the province of Cabo Delgado, destroying many homes and lives. Please join in praying for those hurting and in need of God's divine protection, as well as for the gospel to continue to increase in the midst of this crisis.

YWAM Together is happening in Manila this September 3-6! This week we joined the YWAM prayer initiative, "The Invitation," to intercede for this event as YWAMers from over 500 YWAM locations will gather together for a time of consecration, encouragement, and seeking God as one body. May YWAM Together be more than just a 4-day event, but a special place for God to be glorified through His people!
