On July 20, 1969 Neil Armstrong took a small step for man but a giant leap for mankind.

93 years earlier 17 (according to local legend) men and women did something similar by starting to meet together to worship Jesus in Bowdon Junction. 150 years later we’re still here.

Celebrate with us those 150 years of God’s faithfulness this Sunday at 10:30am. Lunch will follow.

As Pleasant View was turning 80, “I love Lucy” was on tv, Carl Perkins was performing “Blue suede shoes,” and Charlton Heston was Moses in “The Ten Commandments.”

The 1940’s were a difficult decade for the whole world. But God is faithful. And by the end of the decade Jackie Robinson would be a Brooklyn Dodger and the year Pleasant View turned 70? 11 year old Elvis Presley was given his first guitar.

The 1930’s were the golden age of Hollywood. Like in ‘39 with the release of The Wizard of Oz. That year Pleasant View was turning 63! 87 years later, Glinda was right: “There’s no place like home.”

Maybe you haven’t worshipped with us in a while. Maybe you haven’t worshipped anywhere in a while.

On the 28th of June 1919, World War 1 officially ended with the Treaty of Versailles. This was obviously good news for a country weary of war and specifically for Pleasant View's boys who served. Pleasant View, having been around for 41 years, probably had some who were born and raised in the church. Come celebrate 150 Years of God's grace on August 30th at 10:30am. Meal on the grounds will follow.
