We need to **equip them with biblical truth** so that when they encounter the lies of the world, they know which way to walk.

As children grow and begin thinking for themselves, we want their decisions to be grounded in truth:

πŸ“– I was created by God.
🎯 God has a purpose for my life.
πŸ™Œ God wants me to live for Him.

That's why children's ministry matters.

We're not just trying to produce well-behaved kids. We're preparing children to know God's Word, recognize error, and choose to follow Him.

What happens to your children's ministry if you're not there?

One of the most important things a ministry leader can do is develop people to replace themselves.

In the newest episode of The Great Commission Toolkit, Max Barker from Camp CoBeAc joins me for a rapid-fire conversation about children's ministry.

We talk about everything from games and resources to teaching the Bible, developing workers, protecting kids, and reaching children who desperately need someone to simply see them and care about them.

One of my favorite takeaways:

Don't just do the ministryβ€”develop someone else who can do it too.

Bring people alongside you. Let them learn. Let them get experience. Let them make some mistakes. Give them opportunities to grow.

Because a healthy ministry shouldn't depend entirely on one person.

After someone trusts Christ, where should their confidence of salvatio come from?

Not from a pastor.
Not from a parent.
Not from an evangelist.

Their confidence should come from God's Word.

When a person calls upon Christ by faith, we can point them to God's promises and help them see what the Bible says about their salvation.

πŸ“– "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." β€” Romans 10:13

God's promises are trustworthy because God does not lie.

Our mission is to equip young people with biblical truth so that as they grow and begin to think for themselves, their foundation is clear: "I'm created by God, I'm called to His purpose, and He wants me to live for Him."

Every day, the choice is simple, please God or please self. Our goal is to train them now to choose God, knowing the world will always push them toward pleasing self. Let's invest in their hearts today for a lifetime of purpose.

Max Barker mentions a mistake people can make in ministry: thinking you don't have anything to offer.

If God has led you into this ministry, HE is going to equip you and give you the ability to do these things.

Don't. Limit. God.!

What is something God helped you do that you didn't think you were qualified for?

Many people struggle with doubts about salvation because they're looking back at their feelings instead of looking to Christ.

The Bible teaches that salvation is received by faith, not by how emotional you were, how much you cried, or how strongly you felt at the moment.

πŸ“– "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." β€” Acts 16:31

πŸ“– "For by grace are ye saved through faith..." β€” Ephesians 2:8-9

Our confidence rests in God's promise, not in the intensity of our emotions.

Great children's ministries need more than great programs, they need **growing people**.

In the newest episode of **The Great Commission Toolkit**, I'm joined again by Max Barker from Camp CoBeAc to talk about developing children's ministry workers.

We talk about:

πŸ‘₯ Why you shouldn't train everyone the same way
πŸ™ The importance of spiritual growth in your workers
❀️ How to lovingly confront problems
🌱 Helping new volunteers learn from their mistakes
🎯 What every children's ministry training should include

One of my favorite reminders from the conversation is that ministry should be an **outflow of what God is doing in our own lives.**

If you lead volunteers, or ARE a volunteer, I think you'll find something practical in this conversation.

πŸ‘‡ What's one thing that helped YOU become a better children's worker?

A church member called a pastor to lead someone to Christ. The pastor gladly went, but later wondered: What if that person had died before I arrived?

Too often we assume someone else should share the gospel. The truth is, God can use you.

πŸ“– "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." β€” Mark 16:15
