Our text this week is John 10:22-42. At this point, most of Jesus' public ministry in Jerusalem is over.
He said, "Do not believe me unless I do what my Father does. But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father." - John 10:37,38.
So the question becomes, what do you do when Jesus stops speaking? What do you do when Jesus "rests his case"?

John 10:1-21 is out text for this week. The following is an illustration from this weeks sermon.
Turkish soldiers in WWI were stealing sheep. The shepherd had no weapons to fight. He turned and ran in opposite direction, high up on a hill. There he cupped his hands and gave the call the sheep had heard many times. The sheep ran to him.
Jesus tells us in our text that his sheep follow him because they know his voice.
Question to consider this week:
Do you hear him?
Do you recognize his voice?
Will you continue to follow him on this journey of faith?
Join us this Sunday. 10:30 at Ash Flat Church of Christ.

This week we continue in John 9:13-41. We've been watching and listening to Jesus for a while now. What do you think about Jesus?
It's easy to see and believe that there's something special about him. But, are we ready to believe that he really is God in the flesh?
That's a pretty big jump to make. Jesus knows that, I think that's why this story is in there. This man's journey to faith is "not a leap of faith into the unknown, but steady, sure-footed steps toward faith." The question is, Are we ready to follow?
He said that there's a lot of things he doesn't know, but "One thing I DO know. I was blind but now I see."
What's the one thing you KNOW for sure?
Join us this Sunday at the Ash Flat Church of Christ (10:30) as we listen again to this man's story and ask yourself if just maybe you might be ready to take your next step.
I'll save you a seat!

Jesus said in John 16:33, "In this world you will have trouble..." What if the question isn't WHY do we have struggles, troubles, challenges? What if the question really isn't about the "trouble" at all? What if the real question is how do I glorify God regardless of my circumstance?
Our text this Sunday is John 9. In that text, Jesus doesn't answer why the man was blind, but he does answer the purpose of the man's life. "That the works of God might be displayed in him." So, maybe the story really isn't about the blindness at all but rather about God's power to use each of us regardless of our circumstance to accomplish his work.
Join us Sunday as we witness what Jesus can do with us and through us regardless of our circumstance.
I'll save you a seat!

What exactly is Jesus saying when he says, "I AM"? And, why does it matter that he said it?
If you read Exodus 3:14; John 1:1; John 8:24 (in the original, Jesus simply says in this verse, "Unless you believe that I AM, you will die in your sins."); John 8:58, you will know exactly what he's saying and why it matters.
Now, the only question left for us is this. Do we believe him?
He still has much to say and much to do. So we will continue to watch and to listen. Only now, we will do so knowing that we will have to make a decision. This just may be the biggest decision we will ever make. Maybe we should walk this together.
Join us Sunday. I'll save you a seat!

Who does Jesus claim to be? One of the greatest, most important questions you can ask. The answer may just be a matter of life and death. He tells us in John 8:12-59 (our text for this Sunday). In this text we hear echoes of Exodus 3:14.
If you join us this Sunday, you will hear who Jesus claims to be.
Then the only question left is, do you believe him?
I'll save you a seat!

"If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first one to throw a stone at her." - Jesus (John 8:7)
While we are quick to celebrate Jesus' condemnation of the self-righteous rock holders in this story, if we're not careful we'll miss the real point of the story. Jesus holding out the hope of redemption to a lost soul. In fact, he holds out the hope of redemption to everyone regardless of what side of the rocks you're standing on. My Jesus is just that great!
Question: Is he getting to you yet? Are you starting to listen a little closer? Watch a little closer? Wonder just a little more about whether or not he could do for you what he did for this woman?
I promise, the story just gets better!
Join us Sunday at the Ash Flat Church of Christ. 10:30 worship.

Jesus has been showing us and telling us who he is. But this is the place where he begins to show us what he can and will do. You will find in this text both his love and his expectation. He will continue showing and telling us who he is. The Jewish leaders will continue to struggle and deny. But our greater concern is, what will WE do? Jesus doesn't just show us who he is here, he shows us how he expects those who will follow him to live. Now, it's not just about belief, it's also about actions. What are we gonna do with this one?

Confession of young college age boy: "For too long I have been trying to sit on the fence, only to find out that there is no fence."
At some point you have to make a decision. Do I believe Jesus or not? Will I follow him or not?
Join us this Sunday as we listen to Jesus teach in John 7. The people are divided. Some believe, some don't.
Ask yourself, if you're not there yet, which way are you leaning? We're going to keep watching him and listening to him, knowing that at some point we're going to have to make a decision.
Join us Sunday. I'll save you a seat.

Don't misunderstand, it's not that this question hasn't been answered. John has and continues in Chapter 7 (this week's text) to be very clear. Jesus is the Christ, the Lamb of God.
Now, you have to decide. Have you seen enough, heard enough to believe? If not, I ask only that you keep walking with us, keep watching him, keep listening to him. Because everything that John wrote was "written that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name." (Jn. 20:31)

What are you going to do when the teaching gets hard? When what's being taught is what you NEED to hear not what you WANT to hear?
That's where we're at in John 6 this Sunday. Jesus is saying some hard things and a lot of people don't like it. What we'd like is for Him to soften the message. He won't do that. He can't do that. He's not looking to make you comfortable, he's wanting to save you. And the question he asked then is the question he asks you now. Do you want to leave too?
What are you going to do when the teaching gets hard?
