M is for Missions

M is for Missions M is for Missions is a way for anyone to financially support a Bible-believing world missionary. Don’t live near a good church? Come and join us!

Does health prevent you from attending? Now you have an easy way to help get Jesus’ gospel around the world! M is for Missions is a way for anyone to support an American Bible-believing missionary and send them to the foreign field. The use of technology allows a giver to select a missionary and send financial support directly from their smartphone. It also allows missionaries to apply for support

from their smartphone or tablet/computer as well. Churches can extend their gospel outreach throughout the world by supporting the M is for Missions Program Office. The world needs more gospel preaching missionaries to carry the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world. M is for Missions has that in mind with their goal of sending 1000 missionaries to the field.

An old missionary illustration…
but the need behind it is very real.

Around the world, people are searching for hope—
often following what they’ve been taught, even when it leads them in difficult or heartbreaking directions.

What if someone had come sooner?

Alya is out!!!! Out of the hospital. The Hernandez family thanks you for your prayers!!!

UPDATE: Last night she really didn’t sleep. She fell asleep about 1/2 hr ago. Lord willing she will be discharged tomorrow. God has had His hand on her.
See attached letter for more complete information.

🚨 Urgent Prayer Request for the Hernandez Family 🙏

Please join us in praying for Gavino & Marianna Hernandez, missionaries faithfully serving in Mexico.

Their youngest daughter, Alya, recently suffered a serious fall down a flight of stairs that did not have a handrail (roughly 9 feet) and hit her head. She was transferred by ambulance to one of the best hospitals in Monterrey, Mexico.

She is currently being treated for a fractured skull and internal bleeding. While we are thankful she is in good spirits, this is a heavy and uncertain time for their family.

We ask you to lift up:
• Alya’s healing and recovery
• Wisdom and guidance for the doctors
• Strength and peace for Gavino, Marianna, and their family

This is exactly why we do what we do—to come alongside missionaries not just financially, but in prayer, encouragement, and support during moments like this.

Take a moment today to encourage them and be a blessing.

Let’s surround this family with support. 🙏

🌍 Missionary Spotlight: Noah & Katherine Bake

Noah was raised in a pastor’s home and trusted Christ as his Savior at the age of 12. As a teenager, he surrendered to God’s call to missions, and through college and missions training camps, the Lord continued to confirm that calling—especially through trips to Africa.

In October 2019, Noah traveled with veteran missionaries to Uganda to reach the Batwa (Pygmy) tribe, leaving a lasting burden on his heart.

Katherine was saved at the age of six and surrendered to the Lord to be a missionary at 15. She has faithfully served in ministries including bus ministry, junior church, public school Bible clubs, and daycare.

After Bible college, Noah moved to Jackson, Alabama, where he met Katherine. They were married in October 2022 and continued preparing for the mission field together. In 2024, the Lord blessed them with their son, James.

Over time, God has clearly led them to Africa—specifically to the Batwa people. After another trip to Uganda, they are fully convinced this is where God has called them to serve.

They are now stepping out in faith to reach a people group with little access to the Gospel.

----------

🙏 Prayer Requests:
• Katherine (30+ weeks pregnant) – safe delivery & healthy baby
• James to do well with travel
• Raise support quickly
• Safety and reliability for their vehicle

💛 Be part of sending the Bakes to the Batwa.

Your support—whether monthly or one-time—helps provide for their growing family and move them closer to the field. Together, we can help bring the Gospel to those who have little access to it.

What is it like to be a missionary during a war?

While most people are trying to get out, some are choosing to stay—not because it’s safe or easy, but because they believe the Gospel still matters… even there.

From prison cells to hostile nations to places where following Christ comes with real cost, missionaries have stayed—and they still are.

Right now, there are missionaries serving in regions affected by war—some connected to MisForMissions—continuing the work quietly, faithfully, and often without recognition.

This isn’t just history. This is happening today.

There are men and women preparing to go where the Gospel is needed most—not asking for comfort, just faithfulness.

🙏 Pray for them

Sunday was a great day at Rose City Baptist Church near Beaumont, TX. It was good seeing Pastor Tony Wilcoxson again and the kind people of Rose City Baptist. He allowed me to present the new M is for Missions Turnkey Missions Kit. Pastor Tony did a great job in the Sunday School hour and Church service. I learned something from both messages. They have a big weekend coming up for Resurrection Day / Easter Sunday.

🌟Don’t ever let the rope go for your missionaries.🌟

This powerful reminder came from Justin Barnett, a missionary to the Navajo people supported by Trinity Baptist Church, during Wednesday night service—and it’s one we shouldn’t forget.

The Christian life was never meant to be lived alone.
Even Paul had fellow laborers, helpers, and brethren walking alongside him every step of the way.

Our missionaries need that same support today.

Holding the rope is more than just saying you care—it means
➽ praying faithfully,
➽ giving consistently,
➽ and encouraging regularly.

Because the reality is…
missionaries cannot get to the field—or stay there—on their own.

And sometimes, when support fades…
so does their ability to remain.

At https://MisforMissions.org, we exist to help you hold the rope.
When you come alongside a missionary through monthly or one-time support, you become part of what God is doing through their life and ministry.

You may not go—but you can send, strengthen, and sustain those who do.

👉 Visit https://MisforMissions.org to learn how you can support, give, and encourage missionaries answering God’s call.

Let’s be people who provoke one another unto love and to good works —
and never let the rope go.

🌍 Missionary Spotlight: The Schnell Family – Slovenia

The Schnell family has spent more than 30 years faithfully serving the Lord, following wherever He leads. What began as a step of obedience has become a remarkable journey of faith and ministry.

From Tennessee to Texas, to Cambodia, and now to Slovenia, God has opened doors for the Schnell family to serve across cultures, languages, and communities. Each place has been a reminder that God’s work is truly global and that His plans are always faithful.

Their calling to Slovenia comes with a burden for those who live without a clear knowledge of God. With time short and eternity in view, the Schnells are committed to sharing the Gospel, teaching God’s Word, building meaningful relationships, making disciples, and helping establish local churches that will continue reaching others for Christ.

They see this next chapter not just as another destination, but as another opportunity to follow God’s leading and invest in lives for eternity.

🙏 Prayer Requests:

• Pray that the Lord would open doors for them to share their ministry in Slovenia with churches.
• Safety as they travel during deputation
• That their support would come in quickly
• Continued trust in God’s provision and guidance
• Their son Nathanael’s upcoming wedding on June 28
• That they would faithfully minister to churches, pastors, and lost souls during deputation

Please join us in praying for the Schnell family as they follow God’s call to Slovenia.

M is for Missions 3rd Anniversary

From the Brileys to Uruguay:
While out knocking doors on our bus route in the spring, we met a Guatemalan couple named Denis
and Mildred Contreras. They didn’t speak much English, but we weren’t letting them off that easily. They seemed sincere and searching. After a few return visits, I set up a meeting to talk to Denis and his wife specifically about the Gospel. When we sat down at their kitchen table over a cup of coffee, they were all ears.
Even the rowdy children didn’t distract them. After about 30 minutes of talking through the Gospel, they both prayed and asked Jesus to be their Savior.

From John-Mark Ziegler and his team to Malawi:
Day camps have ended, and God did a mighty work! The men conducted a total of 312-day camps. Around 13,500 children were in attendance; and Praise God 3,296 professions of faith were made!

These are just a couple of the many works that God has done through M is for Missions and our beloved missionaries over the last year.

We’re looking forward to Jesus working in many more lives as we move into our fourth year. Please pray for us — and — why not support your own missionary??!!

Thank you for loving souls!

🌍 Missionary Spotlight: The White Family 🌍

Zachary and Emily White have faithfully followed the Lord’s leading—and that journey has now brought them to Romania.

After earning his Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies from The Crown College in 2017, Zachary and Emily served in music ministry before the Lord stirred their hearts for more during a 2020 revival service. That burden led to pastoral mentorship and, in 2021, a clear call to missions.

Following prayer and training through Preach Evangelistic Ministries’ Mentoring Men for Missions program, they helped plant Freedom Fellowship Baptist Church in Missouri while preparing for the field.

Today, the Lord has called the White family to Central Europe, beginning in Romania. Their vision is to evangelize, disciple, plant churches, and train faithful men and families for pastoral and missional service—with Romania serving as their ministry home base. Serving alongside them are their four sons—Malachi, Nathaniel, Asher, and Curtis.

Their vision is bold and Gospel-centered: to evangelize, disciple, plant churches, and train faithful men and families for pastoral and missional service. Romania will serve as their home base as they lay the foundation for a training school to equip the next generation of leaders.

They have already begun learning Romanian, preparing their hearts and minds for deeper ministry. Please pray for clarity, focus, and perseverance as they grow in language and culture.

✈️ The White family flew out to Romania on February 17. Please pray as they settle into their new home, build relationships, and begin the work God has called them to do.

At misformissions.org, we exist to shine a light on the long road missionaries walk before ever stepping onto the field—and to give believers a tangible way to stand behind them.

👉 Visit their page to:
• Lift the White family up in prayer
• Encourage them through letters and communication
• Partner with them financially as they establish their ministry in Romania
