Mission Of The Sacred Heart The Love of Jesus Christ

08/29/2026

🙏🏾 God,

We intercede for those whose lives have been shattered by violence.

For those grieving the loss of loved ones, wrap them in Your arms of compassion.

For those living in fear, be their refuge and stronghold. Prince of Peace, begin Your work in us.

Too often we harbor anger, resentment, and pride. Teach us the way of humility, the way of listening, the way of forgiveness.

Jesus, You once stilled the storm with a word. Speak that same word now into the storms that rage within us and around us.

We ask this in the name of the one who is our peace—Jesus Christ our teacher. Amen.

We all need just a little bit more love

👉 Worship is NOT only what happens during a song…

It’s also how we live after the song is over.

How we speak to the cashier.
How we respond to our family.
How we talk about the coworker who irritates us.
How we handle disagreement online.
How we speak about someone who hurt us.

“With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness.” James 3:9 📖

This verse is so uncomfortable because it forces us to connect our praise to God - with our speech about others 👀💯

The God we honor with our worship is also listening to and cares deeply about the way we talk about the people He loves and created!🤎

Lord, let the words we speak about people reflect the same heart we bring to You in worship.🙏✝️

🗣️ Not everyone is in the same chapter of their walk with Jesus.

👉 Some are just beginning to know Him.
👉 Some are opening a Bible for the first time.
👉 Some are asking questions they were once afraid to ask.
👉 Some are rebuilding their faith after being hurt by people in the church.
👉 Some are discovering that things they were taught weren’t actually biblical.
👉 Some are learning how to trust God again.
👉 Some are still figuring out what obedience looks like in areas you may have walked through years ago.

That doesn’t mean truth doesn’t matter. It does.

But truth should never make us arrogant toward someone who is still learning - we’re ALL still learning and being refined, day by day.

And I never want the progress God has made in me to make me impatient with someone else’s journey.

Grace makes room for change.
Patience makes room for questions.
Love keeps pointing people toward Jesus. 🤎✝️🙏

Have you ever remembered something someone said to you YEARS ago?🤔

Maybe they don’t even remember saying it.

But you do.

That’s the thing about words…we don’t always get to decide how long they stay with someone.

👉A careless comment about their appearance.
👉A joke about something they were already insecure about.
👉Something said during an argument.
👉A sentence spoken by a parent that a child carries into adulthood.

Thankfully, hurtful words aren’t the only ones that stick.

“I believe in you.”
“I’m proud of you.”
“I see how hard you’re trying.”
“I’m grateful for you.”

Encouraging words can become part of someone’s inner voice too.

Proverbs 12:18 tells us that “The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing."📖

What if we started praying:

“God, use my words to leave something good behind in people.”

“God, use my words to leave something good behind in people.”

Because our voice may become part of someone’s inner voice long after the conversation ends -

Give them something worth carrying. 🤎🙏✝️

🙏🏾 Divine Source,

You are the God of rivers, oceans, and lakes. Of tall, outstretched branches and roots buried deep. The God of feathers, fins, and fur. The One who shines in the morning sun, twinkles in the stars, and still reflects through the darkness of the moon. The God of seeds, buds, and bursting flowers. Creator of All.

We ask for your forgiveness for the ways we've hurt your creation: Our Earth, our home, our sibling. We call upon your healing power for restoration and reconciliation, for your healing love to break forth and bloom so that we may begin to live in community again.

I know (all too well) how quickly one comment, one misunderstanding, or one frustrating moment can affect the rest of our day if we let it…

So this is the kind of prayer I want to pray before the day even gets going:

Heavenly Father, guard my heart.🙏

Help me not to assume the worst.
Help me not to carry offense longer than I should.
Help me remember that people are often fighting battles I know nothing about.

And when I do need to speak, address something, or set a boundary, help me do it with wisdom, grace, and self-control.

Don’t let someone else’s behavior pull me away from the character You’re building in me.

Help me reflect You well in the way I respond today.

In Jesus’ holy and precious name, I pray, Amen. 🙏🤎✝️

There are moments when faith feels strong and steady….

And then there are moments when you pray, read Scripture, try to trust God… and still feel weak.

I don’t think we talk about that enough.

👉 Feeling weak in your faith does not mean you have stopped believing.

Sometimes faith looks like bringing God the fear instead of hiding it.
The questions instead of pretending you have none.
The discouragement instead of acting like everything is fine.

📖 David wrote prayers asking, “How long, Lord?” and still turned his heart back toward God.

📖 In Mark 9, a father came to Jesus and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”

📖 And in Gethsemane, Jesus was deeply distressed and still prayed, “Not My will, but Yours be done.”

Those aren’t pictures of people pretending everything was fine. They’re pictures of people bringing the tension straight to God!

And I think that’s the important part:

Where do we take those moments?

Bring them to Him.
Keep turning toward Him.
Keep telling Him the truth about where you are.

You do not have to perform strength for God. He already knows exactly where you are. 🤎🙏✝️
