2nd Chance Jail and Prison Ministry
Robert Fugett after completing 10 years in prison system, made a vow to God, that on his release the only reason he would return to prison would be to minister the Good News of Jesus Christ.
2nd Chance Jail and Prison Ministry, Inc. was established Nov. 7th 1998 by Robert Fugett and wife Altha Fugett, along with Lois Phelps, Robert’s mother, the ministry firs
t went to the boot-camp and juvenile detention center, in Grayson County, going from there to the Juvenile Detention Center in Gainesville, TX. The ministry was given their first opportunity to go into the TDC facilities, with the help of On the Road Ministry, a biker ministry and Rev. After organizing and recruiting members, the ministry grew, and has had over twenty members at one time. God, has chosen and placed twelve members today in the ministry with seven of those members actively working the fields of the TX Dept. It ministers in over a dozen prisons, male and female, segregation and death-row units. The ministry was honored by the Grayson County NAACP with their 2003 Religion Award. Becoming a 501c non-profit organization on March 17, 2010, and now going into it’s 24th year, the members represent the Body of Christ from different denominations and churches. Bringing gifts and talents that they have been blessed with by God to fellowship with those brothers and sisters incarcerated in prisons and those incarcerated in their minds by strongholds on the outside of the prisons. The ministry scripture covering is 1Corinthians 15:21, “For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.”
