A New Chapter for Forest Church 🌿

Dear Friends,

As many of you know, we launched Forest Church in the summer of 2023 with the vision to connect with God through creation, community and creativity. Since then, we’ve had the joy of gathering in different spaces—from a private park to exploring the beautiful parks of Amherst County—meeting monthly (well, weather permitting) and creating together.

As we reflected on this journey, we realized that our mission aligns more closely as an extension of Shalom Creatives. So, we are transitioning and closing out this Forest Church page.

But don’t worry! We’re not disappearing! Our Mornings of Stillness and Contemplative Photography Walks will continue with Shalom Creatives as these practices remain central to how we heal and experience God through the beauty of creation, creativity and community.

It may have thundered a lot last night, but the sun is shining and it’s a beautiful morning to make art by the river! We’ll be at the Monacan Park pavilion this morning, 10:30-11:30 (1159 Monacan Park Road, Madison Heights)!

We will have a free art station set up this Saturday, 10:30-11:30 a.m., at Monacan Park, Madison Heights! Take a little break to relax, create and enjoy an hour next to the peacefulness of the river!

Fishing, picnic tables, playground, boat launch and restrooms on site. Plenty of parking. Wheelchair friendly.

Our next gathering is April 5! Join us for a contemplative photo walk as we walk among the budding flowers at the Old City Cemetery (Lynchburg). If taking pictures is not your thing, you are still welcome to walk the grounds with us and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature.
