St. James MBC Est. in 1894, St. James MBC in Ambrose, GA has been a cornerstone of faith and community for over 128 years.

After being struck by lightning and lost to fire on February 4, 2024, we are moving forward in faith—rebuilding for a new birth and new beginning.

Our hearts are truly full! We give honor to God and extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who came out and celebrated with us for Family & Friends Day. 💛

What a time we had in the Lord! From the singing to the Word, God moved in a mighty way—and we are so grateful for His faithfulness and for each and every one of you who showed up, showed love, and worshipped with us.

We’d also like to extend a special thank you to our teams, St. John MBC, and all who helped make this day a success. Your service, dedication, and spirit of excellence did not go unnoticed 🙌🏾

Your presence blessed us, and your support means more than words can express.

Look at God… 🙌🏾✨

Brick by brick, wall by wall—St. James is coming back up!

What the enemy meant for destruction, God is turning into a testimony. These walls aren’t just going up—they’re a sign of His faithfulness, His provision, and a legacy that still stands strong.

We are walking in “New Birth & New Beginning in God’s Plan.”

Every nail, every beam, every step forward is because of the prayers, the sacrifice, and the seeds that have already been sown.

And we give God glory for the progress… but we’re not finished yet.

There is still work to be done, and we need our family, friends, and community to continue standing with us. If the Lord places it on your heart, we invite you to sow into this next phase of rebuilding.

Family, friends, and community—welcome to the official page of St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Ambrose, GA.

Established in 1894, St. James has been more than a church—it has been home. For over 128 years, generations have gathered here to worship, grow, celebrate, and stand together in faith. This church has been a steady light in our community, carrying a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering faith in God.

On Sunday evening, February 4, 2024, that light was tested when our beloved church was struck by lightning and destroyed by fire.

But even in loss, we are still standing on God’s promises.

The building may be gone, but the spirit of St. James is strong. The legacy lives on. And now, we are stepping into a new season—a new birth and a new beginning in God’s plan.

We are rebuilding.

We invite you—whether you’ve been a part of St. James for years or are just learning about us—to stand with us in this journey. Through your prayers, your support, and your giving, we will rise again.
