Michelle Halverson The Jam Session 🎙️
We take the mic on the road, chasing down the most powerful redemption stories in America.

From small towns to big cities, we sit face-to-face with people who’ve been through the fire, met Jesus, and now light up the world with hope.

When I was 17, not even out of high school yet, my parents came to me and told me they were going on the road in full-time ministry, to share Jesus with every church that would open its doors. They sold our home and gave away many of their belongings and stayed on the road for 5 years.

My sister Chris was 15. My brothers were 13, 12, and 9.

I thought they had absolutely lost their minds. 😂

Until I was about ten, we lived in what I would call a religious home. We went to church on holidays. My parents actually made fun of people who were “radical” about Jesus.

And then…they became those people.

Prayer meetings that lasted for hours. Conferences. Billy Graham. Kenneth Copeland. You name it. We even traveled to Notre Dame for the Catholic Charismatic Conference, which, honestly, was a powerful experience.

Did my parents get everything exactly right? No. None of us do.

But what they did get right was surrender.

They decided that if they were going to follow Jesus, they were going to follow Him with total abandonment.

When they homeschooled my younger siblings and took our family on the road, people criticized them terribly. People said hateful things about them and questioned what they were doing.

It never phased them.

And now, more than 40 years later, I’ve watched them remain faithful.

Faithful in serving the homeless.
Faithful in serving people in need.
Faithful to their children, our spouses, and their 19 grandchildren.

They may not leave us great monetary wealth, but they have given us a kind of wealth that cannot be measured by anything on this earth and I have seen the Lord restore above and beyond what they gave up to follow Him in those early days.

Faith. Strength. Perseverance. The determination to keep going when life gets hard. And a deep-down knowing that Jesus is worth following.

I had to find my own way to Him. For a season, I denied so much of what they taught me.

But God heard their prayers.

And He is still answering them—from their oldest child all the way down to their youngest grandchild, who is only three years old.

That’s legacy.

Not a perfect family. Believe me, I can attest to the imperfection. 😂

But a family determined to love through our differences, conflicts, mistakes, and challenges—and to keep choosing forgiveness.

That is Kingdom commodity.

That is wealth in the eternal.

And this song…wow.

We sang it so many times growing up:

“Freely, freely you have received; freely, freely give.
Go in My name, and because you believe, others will know that I live.”

Maybe it really is that simple, y’all.

Go.

Tell somebody what He has done for you.

Love people.

Forgive people.

Give away what He has so freely given you.

And live in such a way that long after you’re gone, somebody else knows Jesus because you were here.

This temporary place will one day pass away, and all things will be made new.

Until then, leave something eternal behind.

Mom and Dad, I love you.

This is your legacy. And we’re living in it. ❤️

Tonight was just a gift. ❤️

I got to sit back and watch my three sons laugh together, the kind of laughter that only siblings understand. They get each other’s jokes, they speak their own language, and half the time the rest of us have absolutely no idea what they’re even talking about. 😂

At one point, my beautiful daughter-in-love and I just looked at each other like, “What are they even talking about?” And we laughed too.

There is something so special as a mom about watching your children genuinely enjoy each other. Seeing their smiles, hearing their laughter, and watching the joy between them filled my heart tonight.

What a blessing. What a gift. These are the moments I never want to take for granted.

And Edley’s Bar-B-Que was absolutely wonderful. Good Tennessee barbecue, my family around the table, and a whole lot of laughter.

It doesn’t get much better than that. ❤️

Arlington, She Leads is coming together again! 🤍

But this is about so much more than one gathering in one city.

She Leads Arlington is part of She Leads Texas, She Leads America, and She Leads the Nations—a global movement of Christian women coming together to pray, lead, encourage one another, and make a difference where it matters most.

And I’m so excited to be with the women of Arlington on September 8.

I’ll be sharing from my heart about BREAKTHROUGH—what it means to keep pressing forward when life gets hard, how to walk through some of your darkest seasons without giving up, and how God can bring you through to the other side.

Sometimes breakthrough doesn’t happen because the battle disappears. Sometimes it happens because you decide you’re going to keep pressing through it.

If you’re in a season where you need encouragement, prayer, connection—or simply need to be reminded that God is still working—come join us.

This is bigger than Arlington.
It’s bigger than Texas.
We are women coming together in faith, prayer, and purpose—and I believe God is doing something powerful through it.
