The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted and multiplied a preexisting condition in Albuquerque: Food Insecurity. As Muslims it is our obligation to make sure our families and neighbors do not go hungry. The sisters have established a food and hygiene product distribution program, not only for the Muslim community, but for the Albuquerque community at large. Since April 2020, distribution has been Biw

eekly, and serves an average of 70-100 families. This program is completely supported by Volunteers, sponsors and community members. Together, we can continue to make a difference.

SNAP families who lost food in the McKinley County floods are eligible for replacement benefits!

If you live in McKinley County ZIP codes 87301, 87305 or 87327, call the NM Health Care Authority at 1-800-283-4465 as soon as possible to report your food loss and get those groceries replaced. Requests must be submitted by Aug. 10, 2026.

About 80 cartons of Eggs with 12 each in each carton.

Join our amazing Rio Grande Food Project volunteer registration team!

We are in need of consistent, weekly Spanish-speaking volunteers on Wednesday and Friday mornings (choose one or two days per week) from 8:30am to 11:00am for our food distribution check-in process. This role involves basic computer skills for helping clients get entered into our database, but simple training is provided.

RGFP’s staff & volunteer team is here to help provide free groceries to our community every:

Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday
9:00am-11:00am

Alhamdolilah, on July 4, 2026, we distributed 96 nonperishable groceries boxes [Rice, lentils, oils, beans, pasta, Oats, several Canned fruits and vege], 90 perishable boxes including cucumbers, cabbages, and grapes. We also, distributed 300 bags of potatoes and 30 boxes of apples & carrots.
