African American Graham Family of Shubuta Mississippi The Graham Family's roots began in West African. From the Carolinas to the Wayne & Clarke Counties of Mississippi, Our Christian Faith and Family thrived.

How did The African American Grahams get here? We first stared our journey from West African (The Land of Ham) between 1600 -1700 AD. Enslaved, we found ourselves in North Carolina under The European Grahams between 1700-1800AD. Our story picks up with the birth of Morah Graham in 1804. One of the european Grahams, Peter Graham, moves to South Carolina. Morah Graham gives birth to Peter Graham in 1820. Morah and Peter move to Wayne County Mississippi. In 1862, Peter's Son, Lorenza "Loringus" Graham is born. In 1870, Morah and Peter shows up on the Federal Census. He is 50, and she is around 60 years old. In 1888, Lorenza's son, Allen is born. In 1912, Allen's son, Lucius is born. In 1934, Lucius and Pinkie (Pope) Graham's son Rev. Marvin L. Graham Sr. is born. Lucius, Pinkie, and Rev. Marvin Sr. would move to Albany New York with many other during The great migration from the south to the north. Let us never forget our journey. From West Africa (Land of Ham) to America, we Grahams have faced the pains and hurts of Racism and Slavery. But we focus on The Joys in Family life and Faithful Father and Motherhood, guided by our Afro-Christian roots. "To God Be The Glory!"
