We have an exciting update to share in our search for Abernathy United’s next Lead Pastor!

After much prayer, conversation, and discernment, we have officially offered the position to Matt Lewis, and we are incredibly grateful for the way God has led throughout this process.

Matt and his family will be relocating from Arizona to join our community and church family. Over the next several months, David and our elders will be working closely with Matt as he transitions into this new role and into life here at AU.

Church family, please continue to pray for Matt and his family as they prepare for the move, the transition, and this new season of ministry. Pray for God’s peace, provision, wisdom, and guidance in every detail.

And above all, join us in thanking God for His faithfulness. We are excited and expectant for what He has in store for Abernathy United in this next season!

Last night was our Students United Fall Semester Kick-Off, and we are so excited for what God is going to do in the lives of our students this year! 🙌

We started the semester by talking about the difference between simply getting older and actually growing in Christ.

Getting older happens automatically. Spiritual growth doesn’t.

Growing in Christ means learning God’s truth, putting it into practice, and continuing to become more like Jesus.

KNOW God’s truth.
PRACTICE it daily.
BECOME more like Jesus.

Our prayer for this school year is that our students wouldn’t just know more about Jesus, but that their faith would become deeper, stronger, and more evident in the way they live.

We’re just getting started. 💚

🌱 STUDENTS UNITED FALL SERIES: GROWN 🌱

This fall, Students United is beginning a brand-new series called GROWN—a series about what it looks like to mature in our relationship with Christ, build a faith that lasts, and keep growing into who God has called us to be.

Spiritual growth doesn’t happen by accident. It happens as we become rooted in God’s Word, learn to recognize His voice, trust Him through every season, and put our faith into action. Throughout this series, students will be challenged to move beyond simply knowing about Jesus and discover what it means to follow Him with their whole lives.

Our prayer is that every student develops a faith that is personal, strong, and able to stand firm when life gets difficult. No matter where you are in your walk with Christ, there is always another step to take—and we were never meant to stop growing.
