MARRIAGE SERIES: MARRIAGE, GOD’S WAY

Genesis 2:24 (KJV): “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

Marriage was God’s idea, not man’s invention. From the very beginning, before culture, law, or tradition, God clearly defined His design for marriage.

Today, we live in a time when many people attempt to justify polygamous marriages—sometimes using culture, personal preference, or even selective readings of Scripture. But God’s original pattern has never changed. If polygamy had been God’s intention, He would have created Adam with two or three women. Instead, God made one Eve for one Adam, establishing a model meant for all generations.

Infact, when we examine the Scriptures, we see that polygamy appears not as God’s intention but as a reflection of human weakness and disobedience.

Consider Abraham. God promised him a son, but impatience led Abraham and Sarah to involve Hagar. Hagar was never God’s choice. The result was conflict, pain, jealousy, and lasting division.

Look also at Solomon. He had many wives, and Scripture clearly tells us that “his wives turned his heart away from the Lord” (1 Kings 11:3–4). Polygamy did not strengthen his devotion to God; it weakened it.

Moreover, the Lord expects more from us today than He did from the men of the Old Testament. We live under a better covenant and with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

As believers, we are not called to justify what culture accepts, but to uphold what God has established. Let us honor marriage the way God designed it—one man, one woman, joined by God. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY: Hebrews 13:4, Matthew 19:4-6

GOLDEN NUGGET: As believers, we are not called to justify what culture accepts, but to uphold what God has established. Let us honor marriage the way God designed it—one man, one woman, joined by God.

PRAYER: Father God, I thank You because You are the author of marriage. Thank You for Your wisdom and perfect design. I honor marriage the way You intended it. Today, You strengthen marriages in our homes and in the body of Christ. Our marriages glorify You and reflect Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

EXAMINE YOURSELF

2 Corinthians 13:5 (AMPC): “Examine and test and evaluate your own selves to see whether you are holding to your faith and showing the proper fruits of it. Test and prove yourselves [not Christ]. Do you not yourselves realize and know [thoroughly by an ever-increasing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you—unless you are [counterfeits] disapproved on trial and rejected?”

The demand of our scripture is clear and unmistakable: self-examination, not the examination of others. Paul does not tell the church to inspect their neighbors, criticize leaders, or measure the failures of those around them. He turns the spotlight inward, examine yourselves.

It is often easier to point out what is not working in someone else’s life than to confront what God may be addressing in our own hearts. We become experts in diagnosing other people’s weaknesses while remaining unfamiliar with our own spiritual condition.

According to this passage, the test of faith is fruit. So the question is: What fruit is evident in your life?

Where is the fruit of love when you are offended? Where is the fruit of peace when circumstances are uncertain? Where is the fruit of gentleness in your conversations?
Where is the fruit of self-control in your desires and decisions?

Today, take time to stand before God honestly. Ask Him to examine your heart. Let His Spirit reveal what needs pruning, healing, or strengthening. God cannot fully deal in you when your attention is fixed on what is wrong in others. Correction, growth, and maturity come when we allow the Holy Spirit to examine us first.

FURTHER STUDY: Lamentations 3:40, Matthew 7:3-5

GOLDEN NUGGET: The test of faith is fruit. So the question is: What fruit is evident in your life?

PRAYER: Lord, I come before You with an open heart. Search me and know me. Reveal anything in me that does not reflect Christ. Remove every desire to judge others and replace it with humility and truth. Let my faith be proven by fruit. Uproot what needs to be uprooted, break what needs to be broken, and strengthen what You desire to grow. I surrender my heart to Your examination, trusting that Your work in me will bring glory to Your name. Amen.

EVERY GOOD THING IN YOU IN CHRIST

Philemon 1:6 (NKJV): “That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.”

In Christ Jesus, every good thing God has ordained is already within you.

This truth establishes a powerful principle: if Christ does not carry it, you do not carry it; and if Christ carries it, it is already in you.

Jesus made this distinction unmistakably clear when He said, “The ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me” (John 14:30). Nothing of darkness was in Him. Nothing of corruption had access to Him.

Sickness is not in Christ and so sickness is not in you. Fear is not in Christ and so fear is not in you. Sin is not in Christ and so sin is not in you. Bo***ge, defeat and lack are not in Christ and therefore they have no rightful place in you.
On the other hand, everything that is in Christ is now in you.

Righteousness is in Christ and so righteousness is in you. Life is in Christ and so life is in you. Healing is in Christ and so healing is in you. Wisdom is in Christ and so wisdom is in you. Provision, peace, authority, strength, and glory are in Christ and therefore they dwell in you.

What has nothing in Christ must have nothing in you. And what fills Christ must fill your life. This is the power of the new creation: your life is now measured by Christ, not by circumstances. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY: John 14:30; Colossians 1:27

GOLDEN NUGGET: What has nothing in Christ must have nothing in you. And what fills Christ must fill your life. This is the power of the new creation: your life is now measured by Christ, not by circumstances

PRAYER: Loving Father, thank You for the clarity of my identity in Christ. I acknowledge every good thing that is in me through Him. I refuse to identify with anything that has no place in Christ—poverty, sickness, fear, or defeat. I boldly embrace righteousness, life, peace, and strength, knowing they are mine in Him. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

THE ABUNDANT LIFE

John 10:10 (KJV): “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

The devil comes with a clear agenda, to steal, to kill, and to destroy. Jesus, came with a completely different purpose. He came that you may have life, and not just life, but life in abundance.

What then is this abundant life?

The Greek word translated abundantly is “perissos.” This word means, over and above, superior, extraordinary, surpassing and uncommon.

God never intended for you to live a life of mere survival or barely enough. No! His desire is to overwhelm you with blessings, to such an extent that it becomes evident to all that God has done something extraordinary in your life.

The abundant life overshadows mediocrity. It is a life that carries visible evidence of God’s superior provision, blessing, and presence. It cannot be explained by human reasoning; it can only be attributed to God’s excess.

The world teaches us to live with a scarcity mindset (scarcity of opportunities, resources and knowledge). That is not how God thinks. Embrace an abundance mindset because that is the life Christ purchased for you through His blood. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY: Ephesians 3:20; Psalm 23:5

GOLDEN NUGGET: The abundant life overshadows mediocrity. It is a life that carries visible evidence of God’s superior provision, blessing, and presence. It cannot be explained by human reasoning; it can only be attributed to God’s excess.

PRAYER: Loving Father, thank You for this word. Thank You for the abundance You have made available to me in Christ. By Your grace, I am excessively blessed, excessively favored, and excessively anointed. You lavish me with goodness in every area of my life. I live a life that testifies of Your overflow. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

YOUR CLOSET, YOUR DOOR, YOUR FATHER

Matthew 6:6 (KJV): “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.”

Our theme scripture underscores the deeply personal nature of prayer. It emphasizes that it is your closet that you must enter, your door that you must shut, and your Father to whom you must pray.

We live in a generation where many have not understood the power of fanning their own spiritual flames. They expect pastors or spiritual leaders to do the praying, while they simply do the receiving. This, however, is not the life to which God has called the Church.

It is your closet. You must cultivate personal moments of prayer, away from other men and women, where you intentionally light and tend your own fire. If you are solely dependent on the fires burning on the altars of others, you will never know what it means for your own altar to speak when a demand is placed upon it.

It is your door. You alone understand the distractions that pursue your prayer life. For some, it is social media; for others, it is friends, family, or constant activity. Identify what competes with your time of prayer and learn to shut the door against it.

It is your Father. It is not enough to say, “the God of my father” or “the God of my spiritual leader.” You must know Him for yourself. Seek a personal relationship with God that is not borrowed from another man’s walk, but built through your own consistent communion with Him.

FURTHER STUDY: Luke 5:16, Jeremiah 29:12-13

GOLDEN NUGGET: It is not enough to say, “the God of my father” or “the God of my spiritual leader.” You must know Him for yourself. Seek a personal relationship with God that is not borrowed from another man’s walk, but built through your own consistent communion with Him.

PRAYER: Loving Father, You draw me into a deeper and more personal walk with You. You teach me to value the secret place and to faithfully tend the altar of my own prayer life. I shut the door to distractions and seek You with an undivided heart. As I exercise myself in this truth, my altar speaks, hears and sees, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

UNDERSTANDING MANTLES II

2 Kings 2:12-13 (KJV): “And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces. He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan.”

Our theme scripture reveals that before Elisha took up Elijah’s mantle, he first tore his own garment. This was a deeply spiritual and profoundly significant act.

When you study mantles and how they are accessed, you learn a critical truth: sometimes you must lay aside certain mantles in order to walk in the greater ones God has ordained for you.

Elisha was already a functioning prophet before Elijah was taken up. He had a mantle and an identity as a spiritual man. But if he was to step into the mantle of “the chariot of Israel and the horsemen thereof,” he had to put aside the prophetic expression he had known and embrace the greater grace resting on Elijah.

Tearing his garment represented the willingness to part ways with the familiar so he could receive what heaven was placing upon him.

In the same way, there are moments in your spiritual journey where God calls you higher. To step into these new dimensions, you may have to lay down that apostolic mantle, that evangelistic mantle, that pastoral mantle or whichever office you have walked in, so that God Himself can elevate you into a greater mantle.

Every promotion in the Spirit requires the humility to let go of what once defined you so that God can clothe you with what He has destined for your future. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY: Isaiah 43:18–19, Philippians 3:13–14

GOLDEN NUGGET: Every promotion in the Spirit requires the humility to let go of what once defined you so that God can clothe you with what He has destined for your future.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this word. I receive the wisdom and courage to lay aside anything I must release in order to step into the greater dimensions You have ordained for me. My heart discerns transitions and embraces new seasons with humility and faith. I yield to Your purposes and make room for Your elevation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A SURRENDERED HEART

Proverbs 23:26 (KJV): “My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.”

Any heart that is surrendered to God sees His ways. Many people wrestle with questions about how God works, how He moves, what He purposes and why certain things unfold the way they do.

In our theme scripture, the Lord reveals that these answers are unlocked when a man learns to give and yield his heart fully and completely to Him.

When a heart is surrendered, the eyes of that person begin to see the ways of God. Surrender positions you to perceive divine patterns, to understand heavenly rhythms and to discern God’s hand even in seasons that seem obscure or difficult.

Psalm 103:7 tells us that the children of Israel saw God’s acts, but Moses knew His ways. What was the difference? Moses’ heart was fully yielded. His surrender gave him access to the inner counsel of God. He understood God’s intentions, not merely His interventions. He saw purpose behind events, not just the events themselves.

This is what God desires for every believer. He longs to reveal His ways. He longs to make His purposes clear. When you give Him your heart, you gain His perspective. When you yield to Him, you see as He sees. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY: Psalm 25:9, Matthew 5:8

GOLDEN NUGGET: When a heart is surrendered, the eyes of that person begin to see the ways of God. Surrender positions you to perceive divine patterns, to understand heavenly rhythms and to discern God’s hand even in seasons that seem obscure or difficult.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I give You my heart fully and without reservation. I surrender my desires, my fears and my expectations to You. As I yield my heart, You open my eyes to see Your ways more clearly. You lead me into the deeper knowledge of Your purposes and help me walk in alignment with Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Apostle Grace Lubega

A HIGHER DIMENSION OF FREEDOM

1 Corinthians 9:1 (KJV): “Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?”

Many believers’ understanding of freedom is often narrow. For some, freedom means being delivered from demonic oppression. For others, it is finally getting a job after years of searching.

For another, it is receiving a child after a long season of barrenness.

These are indeed freedoms to celebrate. However, they are not the highest expressions of Christian liberty.

In our theme scripture, when Paul asked, “Am I not free?” he was speaking of a place in the Spirit that granted him access to liberties far greater than external breakthroughs.

Consider the boldness with which he said, “All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.” (1 Corinthians 6:12). This is a higher freedom. He was essentially saying, “I can access this, but I do not need it. I have the discipline and tenacity to deny myself even when I have the power to obtain it.”

In this elevated dimension of freedom, Paul could also declare, “I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound.” (Philippians 4:12). In this liberty, he was unmoved by abundance or scarcity. He could access anything he desired, yet he could also let it all go for the sake of the kingdom.

God invites every believer into this same dimension—a place where freedom is defined by limitless access and the wisdom to discern what to keep and what to let go of.

FURTHER STUDY: 1 Corinthians 6:12, Galatians 5:1

GOLDEN NUGGET: God invites every believer into a higher dimension—a place where freedom is defined by limitless access and the wisdom to discern what to keep and what to let go of.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for the liberty that I have in Christ. Thank You for inviting me into higher dimensions of freedom. I yield to what You are calling me into and choose to see the world from a greater vantage point. My life is defined by immeasurable access to Your grace and the understanding of the boundaries that come with these liberties. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

TRUE HUMILITY

Numbers 12:3 (KJV): “Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.”

If you want to know that a man has truly seen God, study his humility.

Encounters with God never inflate the ego. They never stir pride or self-exaltation. Instead, they break a man and anchor him in the deep and sobering awareness that without God he is absolutely nothing. The closer a person walks with God, the more clearly he sees his dependence on Him.

In Exodus 33:11 the Scriptures tell us, “And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend.” This level of intimacy was possible because Moses possessed a meek spirit.

However, humility is one of the most misunderstood virtues in the Christian life. Many assume it means downplaying who they are or pretending to be less than what God has made them. But that is not humility. That is self-disqualification.

True humility does not deny your spiritual rank or the graces God has allowed you to access.

Infact, genuine humility is compatible with boldness. When you understand that your sufficiency is of God, boldness becomes an expression of humility, not pride.

Praise God!

FURTHER STUDY: Micah 6:8, James 4:6

GOLDEN NUGGET: Encounters with God never inflate the ego. They never stir pride or self-exaltation. Instead, they break a man and anchor him in the deep and sobering awareness that without God he is absolutely nothing. The closer a person walks with God, the more clearly he sees his dependence on Him.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this word. You deliver me from any form of pride and false humility. I know who I am in You and walk boldly in the identity and grace you have given me. I will never disqualify myself. I receive the wisdom to treat all men with grace and the boldness to express the liberties to which You invite me. In Jesus name, Amen.

THE GRACE THAT SILENCES OPPOSITION

Acts 6:10 (KJV): “And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.”

For far too long, many believers have been taken for granted. Some have been mocked in intellectual spaces and pushed into silence because they could not answer the hard questions raised by scientists, philosophers and atheists. Others have lost confidence, because they did not know how to articulate the truth that burns within their spirits. Yet the Scriptures reveal a profound truth. There is an anointing and a grace that can settle upon a man or woman so strongly that the wisdom flowing from them cannot be resisted.

This is what rested upon Stephen. His opposers debated and contradicted him but they could not withstand the wisdom and Spirit by which he spoke.

When divine wisdom flows through a believer, it transcends human logic. Men may rage, misunderstand or even hate you, but they cannot defeat the counsel of God expressed through you.

Jesus Himself walked in this reality. The Pharisees and Sadducees approached Him with questions designed to trap Him (Matthew 22:15-22). They came with layers of logic, philosophical arguments and religious intricacies. But each time they tried Him, they were left astonished. Divine wisdom always outshines human intellect.

The world does not need louder Christians. It needs believers who speak with depth, accuracy and divine intelligence. It is God’s desire that even those who disagree with you will not be able to deny the weight of the wisdom you carry. Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY: Luke 21:15, Colossians 4:6

GOLDEN NUGGET: When divine wisdom flows through a believer, it transcends human logic. Men may rage, misunderstand or even hate you, but they cannot defeat the counsel of God expressed through you.

PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this word. You have been made my wisdom and as such, my words carry authority. I know how to answer hard questions and articulate truth with conviction. I am a vessel through which your wisdom shines in every conversation and every environment. In Jesus name, Amen.
