*The Call of Jeremiah and the Call of Jonah*

Two prophets. Two reactions. One God who doesn’t give up on His call.

*1. The Call of Jeremiah – The Reluctant Prophet Who Stayed*
Jeremiah 1:5-10

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you… I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah’s response: “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.”

God didn’t argue with his age or his fear. He touched his mouth and said, “I am with you to deliver you.”
Jeremiah’s call was heavy. He wept, he was beaten, he was rejected. But he stayed.
Through his tears and obedience, Judah heard truth before the fall. He became the voice of God in a generation that didn’t want to listen.

*Lesson:* God calls the unlikely and stays with them through the hard parts. Your weakness isn’t a disqualifier. His presence is.

*2. The Call of Jonah – The Running Prophet Who Returned*
Jonah 1:1-3, 3:1-2

“Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it…”
Jonah’s response: He ran the other way. He boarded a ship to Tarshish, thinking he could escape God’s presence.

God didn’t cancel the call. He sent a storm, a great fish, and a second chance.
When Jonah finally went, one sermon shook an entire city to repentance. Nineveh turned. God relented.

*Lesson:* You can run, but you can’t outrun a calling. God disciplines, but He also restores. A second chance is still a chance.

*3. The Contrast That Speaks to Us*
*Jeremiah* said “I can’t” but obeyed anyway.
*Jonah* said “I won’t” and had to be broken before he obeyed.

Both were prophets. Both were flawed. Both were used mightily by God.
The difference wasn’t their perfection. It was their response to the second word from the Lord.

*4. The Question for You*
Where are you in this story?

Are you like Jeremiah—afraid, but willing if God goes with you?
Or are you like Jonah—knowing the call, but running because you don’t like the destination?

Here’s the truth: God’s call on your l

Topic: Roles of men according to the Bible.

Men's roles encompass various aspects of life, including family, society, and church. Here are some key responsibilities ¹ ² ³:
- *Spiritual Leadership*: Men are called to lead their families in faith, prayer, and devotion, guiding them towards spiritual growth and a deeper relationship with God. They are also expected to teach biblical truths and values to their children (Ephesians 6:4, Deuteronomy 6:6-7).
*Provider and Protector*: Men are responsible for providing for their families' physical and emotional needs, working diligently to meet their requirements (1 Timothy 5:8). They are also expected to protect their families and communities, standing up for justice and advocating for the vulnerable (Psalm 82:3-4).
*Servant Leadership*: Men are called to lead with humility, serving others and prioritizing their well-being. This involves being a servant-leader, following Jesus' example of love, compassion, and sacrifice (Mark 10:42-45).
- *Role Model*: Men are expected to be role models, demonstrating integrity, honesty, and moral uprightness in their personal and professional lives (1 Timothy 3:2, Proverbs 20:7).
- *Community Involvement*: Men are encouraged to be involved in their communities, serving others and contributing to the greater good (Galatians 6:2, Matthew 20:26-28).
- *Fatherhood*: Men are called to be nurturing fathers, teaching their children about God's Word and guiding them in making godly choices (Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 6:4).
- *Work and Stewardship*: Men are expected to work diligently and manage their resources wisely, recognizing that their work is a form of service to God (Colossians 3:23, Deuteronomy 6:6-7).

These roles are not about exerting control or dominance but about fulfilling God-given responsibilities with humility, love, and a desire to serve. By embracing these roles, men can build strong, loving, and Christ-centered relationships, lead by example, and positively impact their families
