ACTIVATE THE POWER IN YOU

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8). Many of God’s people need to know how to activate the power of God in them for an effective life and ministry. Paul said to Timothy, “Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands” (2 Timothy 1:6). It’s your responsibility to stir up the gift of God in you to produce results. The Lord Jesus said you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come on you (Acts 1:8). He’s in you now that you’re born again, which means His power is in you. However, if you want to see the release of the power of God in your life, the first thing you must learn to do is declare God’s Word boldly and in faith. The Word of God is God; His Word is where the glory is. Therefore, as you meditate on the Word and speak it forth, you create an atmosphere for the miraculous in, and around you. Another sure and quick way to activate and energize your spirit for the power in you to be effective is speaking or praying in tongues. When you pray in tongues, your spirit is stirred; the power of God wells up like currents from your spirit. That power works on your mind such that you’re transported to the higher realms of the supernatural. 1 Corinthians 14:4 says the one who speaks in tongues edifies himself; he charges up himself like a battery. When a car battery is left inactive for a while, you’d need to charge it again to restore it to an effective state. In the same way, the power of God in your spirit can be dormant and inactive except you “charge up” your spirit and get it perpetually active by speaking in tongues. Speaking in tongues works in conjunction with the Word to build your spirit and activate the power of God in you for the life of success and dominion.

what is prayer altar?
1. It is the altar of testimonies – Those who pray always will have testimony. Prayer is the processing plant for testimony.
2. It is the altar for speed accomplishment – Abraham’s servant enjoyed divine speed after he prayed to God. Rebecca came out and did everything as the servant prayed (Genesis 24:12-27)
3. It is the altar of strength – Men of prayer are men of supernatural strength (Luke 22:40-43)
4. It is the altar of sanctification – The more you look at God in prayer, the more you look like Him. If you keep seeking the face of God in prayer, your desire for sin will disappear. In all probability, the more prayerful you are the more sanctified you become (Luke 9:28-29, Malachi 3:3)
5. It is the altar of possibilities – God is the God of possibilities. When you pray and stay on the altar you will see the glory and get the answers (Jeremiah 32:27, Mark 10:27, Mark 9:23)
6. It is the altar that alters things – It is the control room to press switches for change. Elijah prayed and there was no rain for three years. He prayed again and rain came (James 5:17-18)
7. It is the altar of visions and revelations – Men of prayers are men of visions and revelations. Where these don’t exist, you have confusion and uncertainties (Proverbs29:18, Habakkuk 2:1-2, Acts 10)
8. It is the altar of dominion – it is the winning altar; you have dominion over all, including dominion over sin. It is a set platform to take charge of your day and life in general. Jesus would pray in the night and in the morning have dominion over affairs of the day (Luke 5:15-16, Luke 6:12-13)

9. It is the altar of divine direction – Through prayer you obtain guidance and divine direction. Jesus was never trapped because He was always led and guided by God. It is wisdom to be led than to be delivered (Psalm 32:8, Isaiah 48:17)
10. It is the altar of grace – You obtain favour and mercy at the altar of prayer. Nehemiah prayed for mercy and favour before the King and God granted him. The king released him to go and rebuild the city of Judah (Hebrews 4:16, Nehemiah 1:4-11, Nehemiah 2:1-8)It is the altar of revival – Every revival is birth and sustained at the altar of prayer. When God moves, everything moves (Joel 2:28-32, acts 4:24-31, Acts 5:12-16)

In James 5:16, the Bible says, “The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man make tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]’’ (James 5:16 AMP). The prayer is earnest and heartfelt, devoid of external influences or distractions.
Always withdraw to a quite or closed place.

We shall give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the Word.
(Acts 6: 4)
Acts 6:4 Meanwhile, we'll stick to our assigned tasks of prayer and speaking God's Word."
The assignment upon every minister is to pray and minister the Word.the pattern drawn by the spirit is prayer and ministering the Word not the opposite. If a man is preaching more than he prays. He has defiled the order of the spirit.many people have delegated prayer but not preaching.they feel praying is for others and preaching is for them. You are not great because you preach but because you pray.Prayer is the greatest virture in ministry.Men and women who don't pray speak a lot of themselves on the pulpit but not of Christ.A man who prays speaks Christ much.If prayer fails, direction is lost.many people have gone to serve tables and left the Noble course. If you are a minister of the gospel, you can never be too busy to pray. What is going to open doors for the Word is praying.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6–7). Worry about nothing; pray about everything.

Everything? Yes, God wants us to talk to Him about everything. How often should we pray? The biblical answer is “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). We should keep a running conversation going with God all day long. Some find the ACTS formula of prayer helpful, but there is really no special formula for how to pray in the Bible. We should just do it. We can pray under any and all circumstances. Prayer develops our relationship with God and demonstrates our trust and utter dependence upon Him.

Prayer is the Christian’s way of communicating with God. We pray to praise God and thank Him and tell Him how much we love Him. We pray to enjoy His presence and tell Him what is going on in our lives. We pray to make requests and seek guidance and ask for wisdom. God loves this exchange with His children, just as we love the exchange we have with our children. Fellowship with God is the heart of prayer. Too often we lose sight of how simple prayer is really supposed to be.

When we make petitions to God, we let God know exactly where we stand and what we would like to see happen. In our prayers, we must admit that God is greater than we are and ultimately knows what is best in any given situation (Romans 11:33–36). God is good and asks us to trust Him. In prayer, we say, essentially, “Not my will, but your will be done.” The key to answered prayer is praying according to the will of God and in accordance with His Word. Prayer is not seeking our own will but seeking to align ourselves with the will of God more fully (1 John 5:14–15; James 4:3).

“…We will give our attention to prayer AND the ministry of the word.” (Acts 6:4 NIV) So many people just turn their attention to studying the Word. They think by much studying, they will attain all the wisdom they need.

Prayer is the divine instrument to unlock the mystery of the Word by the power of the Spirit! Prayer is that mechanism, that component, that key that switches on the revelation of what we are to study and enables us to then receive what is ‘rhema’ to us so that we can build our lives upon that which is solid and strong to us and not just a generic ‘blanket word’ to all!

The Word and prayer both move together in a Christian life..
And God is interested in getting you through whatever opposes growth through prayer, because what you do directly or indirectly affects everybody else around you. His answering prayer in your life automatically answers prayer in other people’s lives around you. So it’s actually impossible for you to walk in the benefit of prayer in the Word without those around you receiving the benefit of that!
