s God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. The result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God. God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant. Salvation is a free gift of God through Jesus Christ and is received as a result of personal faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross as well as accepting Him as Lord God of our life. The believer is eternally secure in Jesus and cannot forfeit his salvation. Jesus Christ is eternal God who was both completely divine and completely human, yet without sin, who died on the cross as a payment for our sins: He was bodily resurrected from the grave, ascended into Heaven. The Holy Spirit indwells each believer at the moment of their regeneration, empowers each believer with spiritual gifts of His choosing, but with no one gift being the evidence of His presence. Man was created by God in the image of God but chose to sin against God, which resulted in the spiritual and ultimate physical death of man and now requires that he place his trust in the death and resurrection of Christ for salvation and new life.
