A RECAP OF OUR TODAY'S PROGRAM
What is the year of the family?
On 19 March 2021, the 5th anniversary of the Apostolic Exhortation Amoris laetitia, on the joy and beauty of familial love, Pope Francis inaugurated the Year “Amoris Laetitia Family,” which will conclude on 26 June 2022 on the occasion of the X World Meeting of Families in Rome.
What are the objectives of the Amoris Laetitia year?
▶️The Year “Amoris Laetitia Family” is intended to spread the message of Amoris laetitia
▶️to share the content of the exhortation more widely, in order to help people “experience the Gospel of the family as a joy that fills hearts and lives (Amoris laetitia, 200).”
▶️to announce the precious value of the sacrament of marriage, which has “in itself a transforming power of human love.”
▶️enabling “families to become active agents of the family apostolate,” To this end, “an effort at evangelization and catechesis inside the family” (AL 200) is required, since a family of disciples turns into a missionary family.
▶️making “young people aware of the importance of formation in the truth of love and in the gift of self.”
▶️Broaden the vision and scope of the family apostolate to embrace a cross-cutting approach, including married couples, children, young people, the elderly and situations of family fragility.
What is Amoris Laeticia?
▶️“The Joy of Love: On Love in the Family”, the Exhortation written by Pope Francis after the two Synods of Bishops on that topic in October 2014 and October 2015.
