_“He gave me the scroll to eat, and it was in my mouth as sweet as honey,”_
_*EZEKIEL 2: 8 — 3: 4*_

Thus says the Lord: “You, son of man, hear what I say to you; be not rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth, and eat what I give you.” And when I looked, behold, a hand was stretched out to me, and behold, a written scroll was in it; and he spread it before me; and it had writing on the front and on the back, and there were written on it words of lamentation and mourning and woe. And he said to me, “Son of man, eat what is offered to you; eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.” So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat. And he said to me, “Son of man, eat this scroll that I give you and fill your stomach with it.” Then I ate it; and it was in my mouth as sweet as honey. And he said to me, “Son of man, go, get you to the house of Israel, and speak with my words to them.”

I rejoice in the way of your precepts,
as though all riches were mine. R/.

See, your decrees are my delight;
your statutes are my counsellors. R/.

The law from your mouth means more to me
than large quantities of silver and gold. R/.

How sweet is your promise to my tongue,
more than honey in the mouth. R/.

Your decrees are my heritage forever,
the joy of my heart. R/.

I have opened my mouth and I sigh,
for I yearn for your commands. R/.

*Gospel: John 4: 43-54*
43 Now after two days, he departed thence, and went into Galilee.

44 For Jesus himself gave testimony that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.

45 And when he was come into Galilee, the Galileans received him, having seen all the things he had done at Jerusalem on the festival day; for they also went to the festival day.

46 He came again therefore into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain ruler, whose son was sick at Capharnaum.

47 He having heard that Jesus was come from Judea into Galilee, went to him, and prayed him to come down, and heal his son; for he was at the point of death.

48 Jesus therefore said to him: Unless you see signs and wonders, you believe not.

49 The ruler saith to him: Lord, come down before that my son die.

50 Jesus saith to him: Go thy way; thy son liveth. The man believed the word which Jesus said to him, and went his way.

51 And as he was going down, his servants met him; and they brought word, saying, that his son lived.

52 He asked therefore of them the hour wherein he grew better. And they said to him: Yesterday, at the seventh hour, the fever left him.

53 The father therefore knew, that it was at the same hour that Jesus said to him, Thy son liveth; and himself believed, and his whole house.

54 This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judea into Galilee.

Prayer of the day
4th February 2022

Lord our God, help us who have listened in the name of Jesus Christ and heard the good tidings. Help us come with our whole hearts to the Savior, who leads us into your arms. Hear our pleading and let your countenance shine over the world. Let a new age come soon. Send your salvation into the world to the glory of your name, so that the truth we have learned about you becomes a reality in our hearts and our whole life can be genuine, rooted in the truth, leading us into heaven, to the honor of your name. Hear us, O Lord our God. We entrust ourselves and our daily lives to you. We want to be faithful. Help us to be your children, mindful at every step that we belong to you. Amen.

At the threshold of a new year, the Gospel reading reflects a moment of new beginning through the arrival of the Light. It opens with the words, "In the beginning." The reading continues to speak of a light that shines in the darkness, a light that cannot be overcome by darkness, a true light that enlightens everyone. The light in question is the Light of the Word, who was with God in the beginning. That unsurpassable light has become accessible to us through the incarnation. Now, as the Light is in our midst, those who accept Him will no longer tread in darkness but in the radiance of His eternal light and life. Those who reject Him and refuse to share in His life will continue to grope in the dark; not knowing where to go and what to do. Only Jesus the eternal Light can guarantee a new beginning in the New Year with hearts and minds freed from darkness.

ADVENT WEEK 3 WEDNESDAY

15-DEC-2021 Readings

FIRST READING A reading from the book of Isaiah 45:6-8.18.21-25

I am the Lord, and there is no other. I form light and create darkness, I make weal and create woe, I am the Lord, who do all these things. "Shower, O heavens, from above, and let the skies rain down righteousness; let the earth open, that salvation may sprout forth, and let it cause righteousness to spring up also; I the Lord have created it. For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens is God!), who formed the earth and nade it (he established it; he did not create it a chaos, he formed it to be inhabited!): "I am the Lord, and there is no other. Was it not I, the Lord? And there is no other god besides me, a righteous God and a Saviour; there is none besides me. "Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. By myself I have sworn, from my mouth has gone forth in righteousness a word that shall not return: 'To

me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall

swear.' "Only in the Lord, it shall be said of me, are righteousness and strength; to him shall come and be ashamed, all who were incensed against him. In the Lord all the offspring of = Israel shall triumph and glory."
The Word of The Lord!.
GOSPEL A reading from the holy GOSPEL according to Luke 7:19-23

At that time: John, calling to him two of his disciples, sent them to the Lord, saying, "Are you he who is to come, or shall we look for another?" And when the men had come to him, they said, "John the Baptist has sent us to you, saying, 'Are you he who is to come, or shall we look for another?" In that hour he cured many of diseases and plagues and evil spirits, and on many that were blind he bestowed sight. And he answered them, "Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have good news preached to them. And blessed is he who take
