Praise Report. What a powerful testimony to witness Kasule Wilson embracing a life transformed by Jesus! On Sunday, he courageously shared his story of redemption. Having previously struggled with alcohol addiction that affected his life and marriage, he's now radiant with the joy of salvation. May Namusera experience a similar transformation! May God bless Canvas Church in their new location!

*THE POWER OF SHORT PRAYERS (Series)*

Every time I think about stopping sharing about *ShortPrayers*, God keeps on telling me to go on. So I dont really know why this voice keeps on coming back to me!

Many Christians find it hard to pray because of wrong interpretation of what prayer means. I must emphasize this that prayer is not about the duration but the weight and the content it carries.

*4.[The Priestly Blessing]*

Numbers 6:22-26 KJV
[22] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, [23] Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them, [24] *The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: [25] The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: [26] The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace (Number 6:22-26 KJV)*

This is one of the oldest prayers in the Bible and upto today, it still carries big significance to both Jews and Christians.

Short prayers have a dynamic power that can release a blessing that change our lives for generations. Never be busy when an opportunity for a short prayer shows up.

Short prayers can bring peace and joy which can prolong our lives. Some sicknesses come not because we are sick but just because we don't have a peace of mind.

Short prayers can help us explore the grace of God upon our lives. This is a place where we are forgiven not because of our works of righteousness but through his great kindness and mercy towards us.

As we entered this new month, i would like to speak this short prayer for a priestly blessing upon you, your family, church, and ministry in Jesus name.

*SIMPLE AND SHORT PRAYERS BUT WITH POWERFUL RESULTS (Series)*

Remember we are looking at the simple and shortest prayers in *the Bible* and how effective they were to those men and women of God who prayed such prayers.

*2.[Paul's Prayer]*

[6] Now when they had gone through the island to Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew whose name was Bar-Jesus, [7] who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man. This man called for Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God. [8] But Elymas the sorcerer (for so his name is translated) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith. [9] Then Saul, who also is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him [10] and said, “O full of all deceit and all fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord? [11] And now, indeed, *the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time.”* And immediately a dark mist fell on him, and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand *Acts 13:6-11 NKJV*

Whether you want it or not, there will always be a moment in your life that will require a simple and short prayer for *instant results*

The Proconsul's request was to hear the word of God from the men of God *[Paul and Barnabas]* who had come to Paphos. Paphos was under the control of this false prophet who practised wizardry in the whole region and moreover he was even a Jew. When God gave Moses the laws, God told him to tell the children of Israel never to allow wizards and witchdoctors to live among them (*Exodus 22:18*). Friends don't allow witchdoctors to be your neighbors or any of your relatives to practice witchcraft. God knew what would happen if wizards were coexisting with the people of God.

Elymas didn't want the Proconsul to know the word of God which had extra power than what he had. When Apostle looked at Elymas, he understood the spirit which was operating in him, and that spirit was a spirit of *Antichrist*

Filled with the Spirit of God, Paul made a strong declaration to this sorcerer of Paphos and said to him *the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time.* The Bible says, 'immediately a dark mist fell on him, and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.

If Paul had prayed for him to blind for the rest of his life, it could have been possible. But he just said for a time. This was just to humble him and to make him know that he was under the kingdom of darkness and he needed light (Jesus) to lead him to heaven.

Elymas the sorcerer needed more of Paul and Barnabas' message than the Proconsul.

My brother, my sister, there are seasons when you are directly under attack. Some moments in life will not wait for you to first sing a worship song or a praise song, they need this kind of prayer.

One thing i know with short prayers, they always go with precision. They don't miss a target.

You need to look in their faces and precisely make utterances, then your way will be made out for you.

*Short prayer*

May this series open your eyes and your spirit mind to understand this *Rhema*. Be equipped to stand and see victory even your hardest time. May the seal His word in your spirit in Jesus might Name i have played for you.. Amen!

God bless you.

*SIMPLE AND SHORT PRAYERS BUT WITH POWERFUL RESULTS!*

I want to interest you in some of the *biblical shortest prayers* ever made by women and men of faith and their results.

For prayer to be called prayer its not all about the duration but the composition/content and the weight it carries. At the end of of this *series*, you will find it easy for yourself to pray and you won't miss any opportunity to pray whenever there's a need for you to pray.

*[The Prayer of Jabez]*

[10] And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.*1 Chronicles 4:10 NKJV*

Have you ever known that Jabez by the time he made this prayer he was already better or more honorable than his brothers? When some people seem to be doing well, they end up disconnecting themselves from God, they don't need God anymore in their lives. But that was not true with Jabaz. His relationship with God remained too strong even though God had blessed him.

But throughout his life, Jabez had one challenge that made his success to appear useless everytime he would think about the name that his mother gave him after producing him. It caused him deep pain that he couldn't share with his brothers. His name meant sorrow, his name meant pain even though he tried to be good to all his brothers and other people around him in the community where he lived. But he couldn't go beyond the territory of pain and grief.

The pain Jabez had for years, God fixed it in the *shortest prayer* Jabez made. Never despise any opportunity you get to speak to your Father in prayer. The Bible says 'the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5: 16).

I want you to look at this prayer from a certain *prayerroom* and internalize it's content. This is what Jabez said while praying, and his life experienced a total *breakout*. He said....
(1) that you would bless me indeed, (2) and enlarge my territory, (3) that your hand would be with me, (4) and that you would keep from evil, (5) that i may not cause pain!

The Bible concludes by saying,,,, *So God granted him what he requested.* why, because of the weight and the content his prayer carried.

May the Lord grant you what you're about to request!

Did he spend the whole day fasting, no! Did he go on a mountain to attract God's attention no...for he was in the presence of God in all his life. Did he go for an overnight for God to hear him, still no! Was there someone like a pastor who prayed for him, i will still say no! Because the scripture doesn't show us anyone helping him. But only God did it for him.

There are moments in life when places like *(Jerusalem, and on this mount)* don't translate results but only our content and the weight that our prayers carry.

There were five things that made Jabez's prayer to appear effective, and fervent. And when God saw and heard him praying, God didn't have a second thought but only to answer his prayer in the best way possible.

```May the spirit of God teach us what to pray and let him lead us with a prayer content that matches the heavenly standards, in Jesus might name, i have prayed for you... Amen!```
How do you feel about children when they mess you up?
```[3] Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. [4] Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. [5] Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.``` *Psalm 127:5*

There are three things that i see in these verses.

Children are a heritage from the Lord. God gives this particular gift to a man and a woman who have decided to stay together throughout their earthly lives. Whatever they do as children, you only need to correct them and raise them in the right direction.

Children are like arrows in the warrior's hand. The strength of every warrior is seen in the kind of weapons he has for war. Countries we call as superpowers are superpowers because of the weapons they have when it comes to war.

Children are seen as a blessing. If God has given you some, never say they're a burden or a curse to your progress. The Bible talks about them as a blessing. The more we have them, the more blessings we get. You cannot know them when they're young, wait when they grow up, and they're scattered in different marketplaces.

Even though children mess up at home, just know that that mess will not delete the scriptures of them being a gift from the Lord, them being arrows to our families, and finally they being a blessing to whoever has them.

Never rush while studying the scriptures. Take your time because that's another way how God speaks to us.

Give your Bible enough time until when you find a portion where it talks about you.

Jesus studied scriptures and He knew places in scriptures that talked about Him (John 5:39-40, Luke 24:44). If you fail to study the scriptures, it will become too hard for you to locate verses that address your life.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (1Timoth 2:15). That is what Apostle told this young leader, Timothy.

God told Joshua in Joshua 1:8, 'this book of the law shall not depart from thy mouth; but thou shalt medidate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that's written therein:.....' This means if you give any space not study the word, it will become so hard for you to do what the word says.

You can't call yourself a servant of God when you take like a week without studying scriptures or even meditating what the scriptures say. If the the God you're serving doesn't have scriptures, better run away from him because he's not a true God. Scriptures are the one that give us the basics and the foundation about the nature and the character of God. Without them we are completely lost in the world of magic and superstitions.

I have several testimonies of Christians who did not go to school but God speaks to them through scriptures. When they tell their family members or friends who know how to read to help them read the verses God gives them, they always find a big connection of what was spoken to them in dreams with what the scriptures say.

When you open a scripture, you always locate where it talks about God, man, and the nature. Life here on earth, is all about our relationship with God, fellow men, and the nature that forms the environment where we live everyday.

*[II Corinthians 10:12-16 NKJV]*
```[12] For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. [13] We, however, will not boast beyond measure, but within the limits of the sphere which God appointed us—a sphere which especially includes you. [14] For we are not overextending ourselves (as though our authority did not extend to you), for it was to you that we came with the gospel of Christ; [15] not boasting of things beyond measure, that is, in other men’s labors, but having hope, that as your faith is increased, we shall be greatly enlarged by you in our sphere, [16] to preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man’s sphere of accomplishment.```
When God chooses you to be a leader, He doesn't give you liberty to do anything you feel like doing. In leadership we have *boundaries and they must be respected but many times, leaders do not understand this concept.
Leadership is service and you have to serve in the interest of someone who appointed you.
In Africa we have leaders yes, but majority of them don't serve within their boundaries. There are several factors that can lead to that but one of them can be the test of being in the position of influence which leads to abuse of power.
ChristianLeaders should know that leadership is not competition. We should therefore resist the temptation of measuring ourselves with other standards except Christ.
Paul says *"those who measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves among themselves, are not wise (leaders)"*
He says *"for we are not overextending ourselves (as though our authority did not extend to you)*. In other words, as an apostle, he refused to destroy his boundaries as other leaders do because he knew that it would affect his leadership as a man of God.
There's something to learn from Paul's and Jesus' style of leadership. Both of them were servant leaders, accountable to both the people they were leading and at the same time to God who appointed them. Their servant leadership style should be our standard to emulate if at all there's a need to, as Christian leaders.
```Lord help us to understand that leadership is a call to divine responsibility. Teach us what we do not understand as leaders. Destroy pride and abuse of power as soon we ascend to power as leaders. Help us to love the people you have called us to serve and also remind us our boundaries in Jesus name, Amen!```
