One would have expected Jesus to search for disciples in the synagogues and temples, where the learned and those who were knowledgeable of the scriptures were. It would seem like the logical and more reasonable choice. Why would Jesus want to reach out to lowly fishermen? One might think. What do they know? How will they be better than the Pharisees? But Jesus had other things in mind. Through choosing the disciples that He chose to follow Him, Jesus demonstrated the transformative effect the love of God can have on a person. We saw it in the way the disciples went from being laymen to Spirit-filled, Scripture-knowing men of God.

When Jesus started out with the disciples they were a gangly bunch of young men who had their own sets of flaws and shortcomings. They often disagreed with one another and sometimes, they didn't understand what Jesus was saying. They were a puzzling bunch to the Pharisees, Sadducees and scribes. But the disciples possessed on thing that the learned scholars did not have. They believed in what Jesus had to say. They became eager to learn and they never relied on their own self-righteousness. The disciples committed to leaving their secular lives behind in order to follow the way of Jesus.

Jesus taught them. He corrected them. He encouraged them. He helped them grow in the knowledge of God. He was patient with them when they were ignorant. He wasn't moved by their massive need to grow. The disciples weren't pristine men when Jesus met them. Like I said, they were a gangly bunch of men. They were also very young.

Their personalities were dynamic and sometimes they clashed. There were several occasions where Jesus had to rebuke them for arguing over trivial things. But it was also these disciples who recognized that Jesus Christ was the Messiah.

As they walked with Jesus, they grew in understanding. Jesus loved them wholeheartedly – even after they abandoned him during his crucifixion. He restored them and reminded them of the mission ahead of them – to spread the gospel across the world.

On the day of Pentecost, when the disciples were enabled by the Holy Spirit, we witnessed the full effect of their time with Christ.

The men had come a very long way from the gangly adolescents they were when Jesus found them. They became the forerunners for the gospel, preaching in the face of opposition, and performing great signs and wonders.

Armor of God Prayer Heavenly Father, I am thankful for Your mighty armor You have provided for me. I put on the full armor of God: the Helmet of Salvation; the Breastplate of Righteousness; the Girdle of Truth; Sandals of Peace; the Shield of Faith which protects me from all fiery darts of the enemy; and I pick up the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God that I will use it against all the forces of evil in my life. I place on my feet the Sandals of Peace of the Lord Jesus Christ. I ask You Lord, to be my Guard and my Shield around me. Take me into the cleft of the Rock and underneath Your Mighty Wings according to Psalms 91. I put on Your mighty Armor and live and pray in complete dependence upon You, and pray in the Spirit at all times and on all occasions. (Ephesians 6:10-18). In Jesus Name we pray. To God Be the Glory. Amen!

*LET US PRAY:*

The Almighty and Omnipotent God; The Creator of the heaven and the earth; blessed be Your holy Name.

We praise You with all our hearts; and we shall continue speaking of the great and wonderful things You continue to do in our midst.

We thank You for Your faithfulness and Your love that continue to sustain us in this world which continuously presents us with a multitude of challenges.

Even when we are at our weakest points, we draw courage and strength from the knowledge that You love us and that Your faithfulness towards us never changes.

Your goodness and Your mercy are always abundant upon us all, Amen.

Neither defeat nor failure shall be our portion; for we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus who fights all our battles; Amen.

This morning, we commit all our children into Your Hands. May Your presence continue to be their guide in this world, Amen.

We pray for Your protection upon our children that are in various schools across the country. May You continue to watch over them; Amen.

And Father, in a special way, we continue to ask You to uphold all the P.7 candidates in Your tender loving Hands. As they sit their last papers today, may You continue to guide them; quicken their minds to recall all that they were taught, all to the glory of Your holy Name; Amen.

Loving Father, we continue to pray against the spirit of bloodshed in our country.

We rebuke the spirit of murder and human sacrifice in Jesus’ Name; Amen.

We cancel all the spirits of bitterness and revenge in this nation, in Jesus’ Name; Amen.

We proclaim Your Love upon this country and the entire region, Amen.

Let Your righteousness, that exalts nations, be upon our country and upon our leaders, through Christ Jesus, Amen.

We cover all Your people who are travelling this morning in The Blood of Jesus Christ.

And through The Name of Jesus, we cancel all the accidents and all forms of disorganization and delays that have been planned by the evil one, Amen.

And may grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ; and the love of God; and the fellowship of The Holy Spirit; be with us all; now and forever more, Amen.

RATHER TALK ABOUT THE WAY YOU WANT TO BE..... THE WAY GOD DECLARES YOU TO BE..... HAVE A VICTOR MENTALITY.... HAVE A SMILE ON YOUR FACE... CHRIST IN YOU IS REALLY GREAT!!! when your beginning is in God then your ending will be marvelous, when your beginning speaks of problem without the expiring date then your hope is on fire better call on Jesus for perfection of his glory in your life. amen

You may have promises that you’ve believed for a long time, dreams God put in your heart. Every circumstance says, “It’s never going to happen. You would have seen some improvement, some growth.” Don’t believe those lies. Keep thanking God that it’s coming, keep talking like it’s on the way, keep expecting things to change in your favor. Our attitude should be, “What I’m believing for may look dead, but I know what God promised me is still alive. I’m not moved by what I feel. I’m not moved by what’s not working out, by how long it’s been, by what hasn’t improved. I know what God started in my life He will finish. I know what He promised me will come to pass.”

*LET US PRAY:*

Loving Father, in The Name of Jesus, You are the source of all our hope and our strength. You are our God and our strong tower, in whom we take refuge from those who pursue us.

Though the wicked bend their bows to aim their arrows against us, we know that they will not harm us; for You are our God and our shield, through which no such weapon can pe*****te to touch us.

This morning, we arise with our hearts full of praise for Your Name; for You do great things in our midst. Great is Your faithfulness, Oh Lord, and Your love endures forever; for this, we bow in adoration of You.

It is the desire of our hearts, Lord, that we start this new day under the shadow of Your wings, where we are safe and secure. We are sure that You are going to perform great miracles in our lives that will even make our enemies shudder.

We pray, in Jesus' Name, that You continue to draw us closer to You; because in Your presence, there is fullness of joy and protection that we need to go through this day and all the days the days ahead of us.

We ask You, dear Lord, to make Your word to abide in us, so that we may grow stronger in You; never to be moved. May You establish our feet on firm ground, where nothing can shake us.

We beseech You to speak to us. Let Your voice be clear unto us, even though the noise around us is much. Amidst the noise of lack, we shall hear Your voice of provision; amidst the noise of sickness, we shall hear Your voice declaring healing upon us; amidst the noise of discouragements, we shall hear Your voice cheering us to strengthen our hope for Your deliverance and salvation, in Jesus' Name.

And we shall continue to walk in confidence because we know that You will not leave us alone to stumble and fall; for You will keep watch over us in this day and in all the days to come.

We pray all this, believing and trusting in The Name of Jesus Christ, who died and rose again; Amen and Amen.
