Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity
Basic Ecclesial Community (BEC) Sunday
May 31, 2024
Mass Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Sebastien Bakatubia, CICM

Our whole life is marked by the sign of the Trinity. The
Father created us in love. The Son came to the world to make it possible for us to recover our divine sonship which we lost because of sin. The Holy Spirit continues the work of the Son in the Church and in history until the Lord Jesus returns in glory. In the mystery of the Trinity—“three Persons equal in majesty, undivided in splendor, yet one Lord, one God”—our journey has its origin. The Holy Trinity is also our final goal. Someday our eyes will finally contemplate the face of God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. - CTTO Sambuhay Misalette

HAVE A BLESSED HOLY TRINITY SUNDAY 🙏✨

Today, the Church joyfully celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity—one of the deepest and most beautiful mysteries of our Catholic faith. On this sacred Sunday, we honor the One True God who exists eternally as Three Divine Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Though distinct in Person, They are perfectly united as One God in love, glory, power, and holiness.

The mystery of the Holy Trinity reminds us that God is not distant or cold, but a communion of eternal love. God the Father created us out of love and continues to watch over His children with care and providence. God the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, became man for our salvation, suffered, died, and rose again so that we may have eternal life. God the Holy Spirit remains with the Church, guiding, sanctifying, strengthening, and renewing the faithful every day.

Every time we make the Sign of the Cross, we proclaim our faith in the Holy Trinity. Every prayer, every Mass, and every sacrament draws us deeper into this divine mystery. The Holy Trinity is not merely a doctrine to study, but a relationship that invites us to live in faith, unity, charity, and holiness.

On this Holy Trinity Sunday, may we reflect on how God calls us to mirror His divine love in our daily lives. Just as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit live in perfect unity, may we also strive for unity in our families, communities, and relationships. In a world often divided by hatred, pride, and selfishness, the Trinity teaches us the beauty of self-giving love, humility, peace, and communion.

May God the Father bless and protect you always.
May Jesus Christ, the Son of God, lead you closer to His Sacred Heart.
May the Holy Spirit fill your soul with wisdom, courage, peace, and grace.

As we celebrate this solemnity, let us entrust our lives completely to the Holy Trinity. May our hearts become dwelling places of God’s presence, and may our words and actions reflect His goodness to others.

Have a grace-filled and blessed Holy Trinity Sunday!
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. 🙏

TONIGHT, THE WORLDWIDE ROSARY FOR PEACE BEGINS WITH POPE LEO XIV

The announcement of a Global Rosary for Peace on May 30 marks a profound moment of unity for the Catholic Church and the world. Led by the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, this worldwide spiritual gathering calls the faithful to lift their hearts together in prayer at a time when many nations continue to endure war, displacement, fear, and deep uncertainty.

The Rosary will be prayed at the Lourdes Grotto in the Vatican Gardens, a place symbolizing healing, silence, and Marian intercession. Scheduled at 7:00 p.m. Rome time, the prayer will be livestreamed so that Catholics across continents can participate in real time, forming a spiritual communion that transcends borders, languages, and cultures.

Organized by the Dicastery for Evangelization, this initiative highlights the Church’s belief that peace is not achieved only through diplomacy or human effort, but through persistent prayer and conversion of hearts. The Rosary becomes the central prayer of this moment—meditating on the life of Christ through the loving gaze of Mary, the Queen of Peace.

What makes this global event especially meaningful is the participation of major Marian shrines around the world. From the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in France, where countless pilgrims have sought healing, to Fatima in Portugal, known for its urgent call to prayer and penance; from Zarvanytsia in Ukraine, a nation marked by ongoing suffering, to the Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in Antipolo, Philippines, a beloved center of Filipino devotion—each location becomes a spiritual beacon of hope.

Other sacred places such as Medjugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Loreto in Italy, and the Shrine of St. Charbel in Lebanon also join this chorus of prayer, showing that the Church prays as one body for a wounded world.

In Washington, D.C., Monsignor Walter R. Rossi of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception will lead a simultaneous livestream gathering, further uniting the faithful in North America with this global act of intercession.

The Holy Father has repeatedly reminded the Church that true peace is not born from power, weapons, or political strength, but from what he calls the “omnipotence of love”—a love revealed in Christ and sustained through the Holy Spirit.

This Rosary, therefore, is more than an event. It is a global act of trust: that prayer still matters, that heaven hears the cry of the world, and that peace begins when hearts turn to God.

Acts 2:4, 11:
They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke of the marvels of God, alleluia!

Immaculate Heart of Mary Banqiao is happy to have the Archbishop Emeritus of Taipei, Most Reverend John Hung Shan-chuan celebrate the combined Chinese-English Mass this Pentecost Sunday. We had a local parishioner who got baptized and we also had several parishioners from both the local and English communities who received the Sacrament of Confirmation during the Eucharistic Celebration.

Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds. - Catechism of the Catholic Church 1316

Congratulations to the newly baptized and confirmed brothers and sisters in IHM Banqiao.

The Holy Spirit: A Tie That Binds

On the day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit opened to all peoples the knowledge of God and brought together
the many languages of the earth in profession of the one faith. Announcing the peace that comes with his victory over death, Jesus gave the Holy Spirit with the power to forgive and conquer sin. Like the apostles, we are strengthened by the Spirit to face the challenges of the world. The Holy Spirit showers us with gifts.

Acts 2:4, 11:
They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke of the marvels of God, alleluia!

We had a local parishioner who got baptized and we also had several parishioners from both the local and English communities who received the Sacrament of Confirmation during the Eucharistic Celebration.

The celebration was kept alive with the Archbishop Emeritus joining the choir is singing the Gloria in English, the lively story telling skill of the girl who read the 1st reading Acts 2:1–11, the witnessing of our parishioners who received the Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation, and the collaboration of the two communities.
