The Gift of the Papacy
21st Sunday in Ordinary Time
August 23, 2026

Mass Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Bertin Kengele Milau aka Bertin Wu, CICM

Today’s Gospel reading focuses on Peter’s ministry
among the believers. He is the “rock” on which the Church rests. Jesus, however, remains the sole foundation of the Church; Peter and those given the power of the keys can be effective only if they are faithful stewards and exercise their pastoral authority according to the example, and in the spirit, of the Lord. - CTTO Sambuhay Misalette

Excerpts from the Homily
》Christian faith requires a personal response.
》Faith is a gift, not merely human knowledge or personal achievement.
》In the Gospel, Jesus gives Peter:
○The keys of the Kingdom
○Authority to serve the Church
○Responsibility for unity and faith
○A pastoral mission
》We must act - pray, pray for the Church, serve!

Hope of Salvation for all
20th Sunday in Ordinary Time
August 16, 2026

- In a wounded and divided world, we need to have faith in Jesus who reveals to us the greatness of God’s all-embracing love. Great faith conquers difficulties
and sorrows: Jesus heals a Canaanite woman’s daughter who is tormented by a demon. Great faith overcomes racial and social barriers: though “sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel,” Jesus ministers to the pagan woman.
Let us pray for the gift of faith, so that we can approach the Lord with confidence. -

19th Sunday in Ordinary Time
August 9, 2026
Mass Celebrant: Rev. Bertin Kengele Milau, CICM

The Lord is not an angry God whose justice must be appeased. Neither is he an indifferent God who is
untouched by anything that happens. Rather, He is a God who is close to his people. He is present amid life’s storms, as Jesus shows in rescuing Peter. He reveals himself also in unobtrusive and gentle moments, as the prophet Elijah experiences on Mount Horeb.
May we become a people ever convinced of God’s presence in both the ordinary and the extraordinary moments of our life. - from Sambuhay Misalette

The hand of the Lord feeds us; he answers all our needs.

The greatest consolation we can ever have is the love that God bears for us in his Son. The apostle Paul is so taken by this thought that he sings his assurance: nothing can ever separate us from the love of Christ!

"Give your servant, therefore, an understanding heart to judge your people and to distinguish right from wrong."

The other name of King Solomon is wisdom. He is
best remembered in Scripture for the wise decision he rendered in the dispute between two mothers who each claimed an infant to be her own. “Cut the living child in two and give each woman half of it.” The baby eventually went to the real mother who pleaded with the king to spare the infant from the sword.

16th Sunday in Ordinary Time (A)
July 19, 2026

Today’s Gospel parable of the Weeds among the Wheat gives us an explanation of faith: God sows only good seed; evil comes from the hearts of men and women who choose not to obey him. Still, God patiently waits for the harvest, bearing with slow growth and making room for repentance.
Let us ask for the gift to be patient with one another’s faults and to heed God’s call for a change of heart. - CTTO Sambuhay Misalette

Come to me, all who labor and are burdened, and I will refresh you, says the Lord. (Mt 11:28)

14th Sunday in Ordinary Time
July 5, 2026
Mass Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Stanis Lukusa, CICM.

(Introduction from Sambuhay Misalette)
We all seek peace and happiness. Some people hope to find these in wealth, power, and success. But we
know that the human heart remains restless amid all the sources of satisfaction that the world offers.

Jesus reveals to us what is hidden to the learned and the clever: that true peace and happiness can be ours if we live in him and for him.

PRAYER ON THE FIRST SUNDAY
OF THE MONTH

Heavenly Father,

On this First Sunday of the month, I come before You with a grateful heart, thanking You for the gift of a new month and for the countless blessings You have already poured into my life.

As I begin this month in Your presence, may You fill my mind with wisdom and clarity, my heart with peace, and my spirit with lasting joy. Guide every decision I make, bless the work of my hands, and grant favor in all my endeavors according to Your holy will.

Strengthen my faith, protect my family, and keep us safe from all harm. Help us to walk each day in Your love, trusting that Your plans are always greater than our own.

Today, as I worship You and receive Your abundant grace, I surrender my hopes, dreams, worries, and every intention into Your loving hands. I trust completely in Your perfect will, knowing that You are always working for my good.

I ask all these through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Most Precious Blood of Christ, save us and the whole world. Amen.

Long before our three-year journey in Taiwan was captured, a community was already blooming.
This is the story of how we first responded, how we continue to serve, and the beautiful memories that followed.
As we look back on the IHM Banqiao Filipino-English Community through the years, our prayer is that our story inspires you to join our community, share your gifts, and serve alongside us.
May this journey spark a fire in your heart to join us, build new memories, and serve the Lord together.
