【振天宮天上聖母發祥與建立】 桃園振天宮之建立及崇祀天上聖母，溯自民國元年。斯時，桃園地區遍受螟蟲之害，苦耕無收，損失慘重。旋經北港朝天宮天上聖母移駕巡幸，臨經今桃園、八德、龜山、蘆竹等地，螟蟲滅跡，逐年豐收。全民莫不感念聖母威靈。然因第二次世界大戰，台灣淪為日據，民等崇祀，未能自主。 迨至台灣光復，桃園善信，前往進香日眾。
