A pastor once told me, “Whatever you do, always ask yourself: How does this glorify God?”

That simple approach to living changed my life. 🙌🏽

Funny thing is, when I started applying the same principle to church services, I began questioning church traditions I enjoyed and faithfully participated in, asking myself, “Wait... where is Jesus in this?” 😅

Glory be to Jesus Christ that the scales have been removed from my eyes. My desire changed from religious routines to building a genuine relationship with the Lord. 🥹

Many disliked me for this. 🤷🏽‍♂️

But I do hope this encourages a believer who is seeking a closer walk with God. 🙏🏽 It’s the sweetest thing you will ever experience. 🍯

Some years ago, I was in a church, and the pastor started humming a secular soca tune. 🥹

He was just flowing from one song into the next and mistakenly did this, but most of the congregation immediately joined him while a few people looked confused. Man, it turned into a whole jam session. 😅

To be fair, I think the pastor made an honest mistake, but the cat was already out of the bag. 😂

As I sat there, I remember thinking, “this makes perfect sense now”. 🤔

Some churches no longer seem focused on adoring, bowing before, and acknowledging God's Holy presence. Church has become a VIBES. It's like DJs pulling up as selectors… chune after chune after tune.🙃

I often find myself asking, did they actually encounter Christ during that two-hour "praise and worship" session?

Sometimes I see things that are clearly contrary to biblical teaching. But that doesn’t matter because once the rhythm is “right”... they will JAM till morning. 🥹🎶😅

One of the most difficult thing I ever had to do was trusting not in what I can do but in what God promised he will do…

When I’ve exhausted all my strategies, I had no choice but to LEAN BACK.

This song reminds me of that season.

As long as your culture and traditions do not oppose the Gospel…it’s okay! You can hold on to them. That is part of what makes you beautifully unique. 🫶🏽❤️

However, ALWAYS be willing to forsake any practice that stands in contrast to the Gospel of Christ.

A pastor once said that I have a “BAPTIST DEMON” on me. 🥹 In all my time of studying scripture, I have never come across such a doctrine. 😂

But I can assure you of this: God has allowed me to reach people he may never have been able to connect with. Glory be to Jesus Christ 🙌🏽

Be YOU! ☝🏽
You were wonderfully and uniquely made to reach people that nobody else can reach. 🤗
Your background, environment, experiences, and even your struggles help shape you for your purpose and destiny. 🇹🇹 🇬🇩 ❤️

Religion (Legalism) often says, “If you do not resemble us, you are not saved.”
Jesus says, “Come unto Me.” 🙇🏽‍♂️

The disciples did not all sound alike, dress alike, think alike, or come from the same background yet Christ used every one of them powerfully.

Indeed, DO NOT compromise holiness for culture, but do not destroy your God-given identity trying to imitate people either. 💯

Let Christ transform you, not clone you. ♊️
There is a difference between spiritual unity and manufactured uniformity. 🙏🏽

God’s promises are multi-generational.
May the fruit of your labour extend to your generations.🙏🏽

Dear Christian churches,
Can we make sure our appointed leaders are actually trained in the gospel?

So that they:
Believe in the gospel,
Are truly saved by the gospel, ⛓️‍💥
Transformed by the gospel, 🙇🏽‍♂️
Lead according to the gospel, 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️
And ultimately spread the gospel? 🗣️
Otherwise… what’s the point of being a leader in a Christian church anyway? 🤷🏽‍♂️

Seers exist in other belief systems.
Manifestation isn’t always proof of God’s presence.
Music is everywhere. 🎶🎤
Even healing can happen outside the church.⚕️
Spiritual experiences exist EVERYWHERE. 👀

So what exactly distinguishes us as Christians?
Our union with Christ through THE GOSPEL‼️📖

Perhaps leadership appointments in many churches need to be reevaluated.
Because the flock is hungry. 🐑
People are searching for real food.
But if leaders can’t feed them properly
Or if people don’t know what good food is….they’ll be enticed and drawn to whatever is being offered. 🤤

Not everything spiritual is from God but the gospel always is.
