*A Shepherd’s Song of Gratitude*
Honouring Fr. Peter Aduaka on the Celebration of His 10th Anniversary of
Priestly Ministry
Ten years ago, you answered Christ's loving call,
Leaving all behind to give your life and all;
From Nigeria's homeland to Trinidad's fair shore,
You came as a missionary, bringing God's love evermore.
With faith as your compass and Christ as your guide,
You journeyed in service with the Lord at your side.
At St. Dominic's Parish in Penal you faithfully stand,
A shepherd appointed by God's own hand.
Through every Eucharist, every prayer and every care,
You reveal Christ's presence to the people gathered there.
With humble devotion and a heart that freely gives,
You show us the Gospel through the way you live.
Beyond the parish church your mission extends,
To satellite communities where your service never ends.
Across roads and villages, wherever people call,
You bring hope and encouragement, sharing Christ with all.
No distance is too great, no effort too much to give,
For in serving God's people, you help His Church to live.
The sick and the homebound hold a special place,
Within your priestly heart filled with compassion and grace.
Through visits and prayers at bedsides and doors,
You bring Christ's healing presence to those who need it most.
A comforting word, a blessing, a smile sincere and true,
Become sacred gifts of God's love shining through you.
Your homilies are remembered in a very special way,
For often a joyful song helps God's message stay.
With melodies of faith flowing from your heart,
You make the Word come alive and set souls apart.
The Gospel becomes a hymn that lifts us above,
Drawing us closer to Christ and His everlasting love.
And when the parish gathers in fellowship and cheer,
Your dancing spirit brings joy to all who are near.
Young and old alike cannot help but smile,
As your joyful witness brightens every mile.
For you remind us that faith is more than duty alone—
It is the celebration of God's love made known.
Today we thank the Lord for ten blessed years,
For your sacrifices, your prayers, your joys and your tears.
For every life you've touched and every soul you've inspired,
For the missionary zeal that has never tired.
May Christ, whom you serve with such faithful devotion,
Continue to fill your heart with grace and holy emotion.
Fr. Peter Aduaka, may God's blessings abundantly flow,
As you continue the path where He leads you to go.
May Our Lady protect you beneath her loving care,
And may St. Dominic intercede for you in prayer.
May health, peace, and joy be yours for many years to come,
And may your priestly song continue until God's work is done.
