Lenten Retreat 2026 – LMPA Communities
Theme: Obedience to God
“Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry… Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
James 1:19–22
My fellow brothers and sisters in Christ,
As we enter the sacred season of Lent, we come before the Lord with open hearts, longing to hear His voice more clearly. This year, the Holy Spirit invites us to reflect deeply on obedience to God, not as a burden, but as a loving response to the One who first loved us.
We have just closed a Jubilee Year of HOPE, a time that reminded us that God is faithful, that He walks with us even in uncertainty, and that our hope is firmly anchored in Christ. Now the question before us is simple, yet challenging:
What is our next step in our spiritual life?
The Letter of James calls us not only to hear God’s Word, but to live it. Lent is that sacred pause where we listen attentively, examine our hearts honestly, and allow God’s Word to transform our actions. Obedience begins with listening, listening to God in Scripture, in prayer, in silence, and in the cries of those around us.
During this retreat, we ask:
What is God saying to our hearts this year?
Where is He calling us to deeper trust and surrender?
How can we move from hope received to obedience lived?
Let us take this time as a community to reflect on the Holy Word of God, to be renewed in spirit, and to walk forward together no longer just hearers of the Word, but doers, shaped by love, humility, and faith.
May this Lenten journey draw us closer to Christ and strengthen us to follow Him more faithfully each day.
🙏✨
