🙏 We Are Praying for You!

"For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." — Matthew 18:20

At SAIC, we have seen firsthand that prayer is truly powerful. Our community has been blessed with so many beautiful testimonies and answered prayers that remind us of the Lord's faithfulness. Because He has moved for us before, we know He is ready to listen again!

Whatever is on your heart today—whether it's a heavy burden, a miracle you're seeking, or a testimony of praise—we want to stand in the gap for you.

Please leave your prayer requests in the comments below. ⬇️

Our prayer team will be gathering this coming Sabbath Afternoon for our United Prayer session, and we will be presenting every single request before the Lord.

Let’s experience the strength of united faith together. See you on Sabbath!

“One thing you lack.” 📖

During last April 18, Sabbath’s Divine Worship, Bro. Joel Gil Paez, Jr. took us through the story of the Rich Young Ruler (Mark 10:17-31).

The Danger of Riches
17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.

Commentary on 10:17-22
Christ's dealing with the young man is presented as an object lesson...
It is obedience to His law, not merely a legal obedience, but an obedience which enters into the life, and is exemplified in the character.
God has set His own standard of character for all who would become subjects of His kingdom...
All should consider what it means to desire heaven, and yet to turn away because of the conditions laid down.
Think of what it means to say "No" to Christ.
The ruler said, No, I cannot give You all.
Do we say the same?
{Desire of Ages 523. 1}

23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.
29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
31 But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.

It was a powerful reminder that sometimes the very things we hold onto are the things holding us back from the life God has for us.

Are we willing to let go of our "possessions"—whether material, emotional, or habitual—to truly follow the Master?

✨ A Sabbath School of Deep Reflection and Discovery ✨

Last Saturday was no ordinary Sabbath! We stepped away from the traditional routine and took a fresh, interactive approach to our Sabbath School Lesson. 📖🌱

We dived deep into the lives of iconic Bible characters, exploring the powerful and life-changing contrast between Pride and Humility.

Group 1: Discussed by Bro. Elmer B. Realda
Bible Characters 1-3

Group 1: Discussed by Bro. Uel E. Lugo
Bible Characters 4-6

1. Abraham vs. Lot (Genesis 13)
The Contrast: Sacrificial Humility vs. Self-Centered Choice

Abraham (Humility): Despite being the elder and the one to whom the land was promised, Abraham prioritized peace. He allowed Lot the first choice, demonstrating unselfishness and trust in God’s provision rather than fighting for his own advantage.

Lot (Pride/Self-Interest): Lot looked at the physical landscape—the "well-watered" plains of Sodom—and chose based on immediate gain. His choice reflected a heart prioritizing personal prosperity over the harmony of the relationship and the proximity to God's presence.

2. Isaac vs. Ishmael (Genesis 16 & 21)
The Contrast: Submissive Faith vs. Impatient Will

Isaac (Humility): Representing the "child of promise," Isaac’s life is defined by submission. A key moment of humility is found later in his life on Mount Moriah, where he allowed himself to be bound as a sacrifice, trusting his father and God. His identity was rooted in his father’s blessing.

Ishmael (Pride/Human Effort): Ishmael was born of Hagar, born out of a human attempt to force God’s plan (Sarai’s impatience). In Genesis 21, he is noted for "mocking" (or laughing at) Isaac. This behavior stems from the pride of position and the resentment of someone who feels threatened by the true heir of the promise.

3. Cain vs. Abel (Genesis 4)
The Contrast: Self-Willed Worship vs. Obedient Faith

Abel (Humility): Abel’s humility was demonstrated through his total reliance on God’s plan for salvation. By bringing a lamb—the "firstlings of his flock"—he acknowledged his need for a Redeemer. He didn't try to innovate or offer his own hard work; he simply followed God’s specific instructions, showing a heart that was submissive to Divine authority.

Cain (Pride/Self-Sufficiency): Cain’s pride was rooted in human merit. He brought the "fruit of the ground"—the result of his own labor, sweat, and skill. He felt that his best efforts should be good enough for God. When his offering was rejected, his pride turned into "fallen countenance" and eventually murderous rage. He was too proud to admit he was wrong and too stubborn to offer the sacrifice God actually required.

4. Jacob vs. Esau (Genesis 25 & 27)
The Contrast: Wrestling for Blessing vs. Despising the Sacred

Esau (Pride/Short-sightedness): Esau’s pride is best illustrated by his attitude toward his birthright. Because he valued his immediate physical hunger over his spiritual heritage, he traded his birthright for a bowl of stew. This demonstrates a prideful disregard for the sacred in favor of the immediate gratification of the self.

Jacob (Humility through Struggle): While Jacob began his journey as a "supplanter" (using his own strength to get ahead), his story is one of painful transformation. His humility is ultimately perfected when he refuses to let go of the Angel until he is blessed. He moved from relying on his own cunning (pride) to relying entirely on God’s grace (humility).

5. Joseph vs. His Brothers (Genesis 37 & 45)
The Contrast: Forgiving Grace vs. Envious Pride

The Brothers (Pride/Envy): The brothers’ pride was rooted in comparative worth. They couldn't stand that Joseph was the favorite, so they sought to "kill the dreamer" to prove his dreams wrong. Pride made them choose violence to protect their own status within the family.

Joseph (Humility/Providence): Despite being elevated to the second most powerful man in Egypt, Joseph remained humble. When he finally revealed himself to his brothers, he didn't use his power to get revenge (pride). Instead, he wept and said, "God sent me before you to preserve life" (Gen 45:5). He saw himself as a servant of God’s plan, not a victim of his brothers.

6. Daniel vs. Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 2 & 4)
The Contrast: The Source of Wisdom vs. The Source of Power

Nebuchadnezzar (The Peak of Pride): The king’s pride is famously captured in his boast: "Is not this great Babylon, that I have built... by the might of my power and for the honor of my majesty?" (Dan 4:30). He took credit for what God had allowed him to have, leading to his temporary "madness" until he acknowledged Heaven's rule.

Daniel (Consistent Humility): When Daniel was called to interpret the king’s dream, he didn't claim to be a genius. He immediately told the king, "There is a God in heaven who reveals secrets" (Dan 2:28). He consistently redirected the glory away from himself and toward God, even when his life was at stake.
