Last week, I visited the Mutuki house church in the Tha Song Yang area, which is about three hours away. Because the distance was far, we left early on Saturday morning. Four of us traveled together in one car—Elder Phinit, Pastor Butu, an elderly church member, and myself—as we drove up the mountain.
When we arrived, the believers—whom I had not seen for almost one year—welcomed us with great joy. They prepared food for us and also gave us a place to sleep.
Elder Lewa, the leader of Mutuki church, served us warm food and coffee. He also gave me 10 kilograms of green coffee beans as a gift.
The next day, one family who raises pigs offered a pig for a thanksgiving service. Other believers brought herbs and tree roots from the mountains—precious things they had carefully kept—and they shared them with a joyful and generous heart.
I preached two messages:
“What does it mean to believe in Jesus?”
“Peter walking on the water.”
And on that day, two new people accepted Jesus as their Savior.
Although my back was hurting and I had to take pain medicine to climb the mountain, the visit became a great blessing. I came down the mountain encouraged and comforted by God.
Hallelujah. Amen.
