According to the end-year Executive meeting of the Greater Bahr el Ghazal Field of the Seventh-Day Adventist, the following actions were taken today as the situation demands as far as the Mission is concerned in Greater Bahr el Ghazal Field.

SUBJECT: MASS CONTRIBUTION FOR HOPE CHANNEL SOUTH SUDAN (HCSS) ON AUGUST 30th, 2025.

Dear District Leaders and elder(s),

Kind Christian Greetings to you.

For your information, there is going to be a general contribution for Hope Channel South Sudan across South Sudan Union Mission territory on August 30th, 2025.

Therefore, here is the way forward:

1. Each and every organized church is given an offering goal of 200,000 SSP. For our case, we have 28 organized Churches across GBF, hence, our goal of 28 churches is 5,600,000 SSP. So, let's each organized Churches divide with her companies by giving them part that they can manage.

2. Secondly, try to motivate our members who are able to pledge monthly contribution goal that they will be paying every month for HCSS.

3. Thirdly, for those Districts that do not have an organized Church, please, inform your organized Companies and reach the offering goal of 200,000 SSP in your District. You can divide 200,000 SSP for them.

For leader(s), kindly check the attachment in your email for the offering goals and the Form for the monthly payment pledge for those who can manage by God's grace.

: Make sure your organized Churches within your District have reach their goals of 200,000 per an organized Church and that it's finally made ready on August 30th and send to the Field Treasury in which it will be sent to the Union for the operation of our Hope Channel South Sudan (HCSS).

You still have 4 weeks for that. Hurry up because time flies quickly.

Your usual cooperation is highly appreciated.

Thanks and be blessed.

Yours sincerely in Christ Service,
William Wol Adewun, GBF Communication Director

Must Read Story.....!!

I was in class that fateful Friday afternoon teaching my students when she raised her hand to ask a question.
I permitted her and she asked a rather too simple question that I supposed she should know the answer.
I had already covered that topic the previous week. "Will you sit down there! With your Ugly face! Olodo!" was the only answer I gave her.
The whole class bursted into laughter and she looked embarrassed.
I went on with my lesson but felt somewhat guilty over what I had said. I finished my class and left. On Sunday, I went to Church. The preacher was talking about the tongue and its power.
He spoke about how you could bring others down by what you say.

I remembered what happened on Friday and became guilty. I swore I was going to apologize to her on Monday when I got to the class.

On Monday afternoon, I went to the class but I didn't see her. I asked after her from her coursemates but they didn't seem to know who I was talking about.

I then said I was looking for the person I insulted on Friday. "Oh, that's Joy Sir! She is not in class today" they answered.
Who is her friend? I asked. "Aisha" they chorused. But Aisha was not in the class either.

Suddenly, a girl with Hijab walked in. "That's Aisha Sir" my students informed me.
Where is your friend? I asked her. "Which one?" She replied without looking at my face. Joy! I said.

*The reply shocked me! She is in the mortuary Sir. Mortuary????? Doing what there?? I asked "She died on Friday Sir" Aisha replied.

How come?????? I later found out that after my class on Friday, Joy was hit by a fast moving vehicle.
She was crossing the road absentmindedly probably because of what I said.
"Her burial is on Saturday and you are invited Sir" Aisha continued.

As I stood trying to overcome the shock, Aisha said within tears, "you killed my friend Sir".
She was right! I should be the murderer!
Some girls in the class were already crying! I didn't know what to say, whether to apologize to Joy's friend or Joy's ghost.
I submitted my resignation letter the next day.
Dear Lecturers and Teachers, please stop insulting your student.

They are in school to learn from you. If they already know, they won't be in school!
Please mind what you say to other people. Are your words bringing life or death to the hearers?

NB: THIS STORY IS A MUST READ AND DOES NOT ONLY APPLY TO LECTURERS AND TEACHERS BUT ALL OF US WHO COME INTO CONTACT WITH HUMAN BEINGS: CUSTOMERS, STUDENTS, PARENTS, MATES, FRIENDS AND SO ON...

Let's be very mindful of how we address one another

At least eleven members of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church have been hospitalized after a violent attack during a worship service in Turalei Payam in Warrap State’s Twic County on Saturday.

According to Pastor William Wol Adewun Paduol, Director of Information and Communication for the Greater Bahr El Ghazal Field of the SDA Church, the group attacked the congregation during a worship service, beat worshipers, and set the church building on fire.

“A group of people were mobilized by a local chief, and they attacked members of a church operating under a tree,” Pastor Wol said. “The attackers claim the church disrupts traditional shrine practices and offends their gods.”

During the attack, the mob reportedly destroyed sound equipment, mobile phones, chairs, and even set members’ shoes on fire. In addition to the violence at the church, some of the attackers allegedly broke into members’ homes and looted livestock, including three goats.

Warrap State has experienced multiple cases of churches being attacked or burned by some groups of residents in recent months.

Just last Sunday, unidentified gunmen ambushed and killed an Adventist evangelist and injured a pastor as they returned from a wedding in Tonj North County.

In 2022, an Adventist church was burned down in Gogrial East, Warrap State, an incident believed to be motivated by religious hostility. This earlier event was linked to former Interior Minister and MP Salva Mathok Gengdit, who was seen condemning the church’s activities in viral social media footage before his death in March 2023.
