This was over collected poles and leftover of the grass from the thatched temple since reconstructed in 2017

It was in October 2024 when the standing thatched temple with the grass collapsed down to dusty.

Church leaders of Awal Archdeaconry planned to reconstructing this thatched temple with grass with modern renovation with poles of Timbers and roofing with iron sheets in February, 2025
May God give the congregations courage, preservance, patience and victory to win their well planned idea to construct the church of Awal.

Outcomes of the Awal Archdeaconry church leaders meeting 24/11/2024:

Agendas were:
Christmas and New year 2025 budget
[ ] Ordinary church members will contribute 1 tin of dura and 3,000 SSP
[ ] Church leaders will contribute 10,000 SSP per each
[ ] We have so far received 50,000 SSP from one of Ordinary who is working in a certain NGO.
[ ] Cashier at Awal will be incharge to receive things handed over there.
[ ] Cashier in Abyei town will receive things handed over from there.

Challenges outstanding to be addressed
[ ] Teachings and training on new Ngorlong prayer book for Sunday service
[ ] Baptism and confirmation

Preparation and welcoming of Rev. Archdeacon of Awal:
[ ] 5,000 SSP per a church leader who wil attend the slated meeting on Sunday 1st Dec 2024

If the physical temple collapsed, our spiritual temple still stands. Said one of women. On Sunday, 4th August 2024.

All church members shown great patriotic and love before God by conducting their Sunday on under the tree within the compound of Awal parish.
