*MESSAGE FROM THE CATHOLIC YOUTH SECRETARIAT, DIOCESE OF KENEMA*

FEAST OF ST. JOHN BOSCO

Let me start by greeting you with great affection and with the promise of commitment and support in our journey with you. On this significant Feast of St. John Bosco, it gives us great pleasure to extend our warm congratulations and best wishes to all catholic youth in the Diocese of Kenema.
On this special feast, we want you to know, with enchantment, that you are doing overwhelmingly great and we are very proud of you. As you celebrate your Patronal Feast, we want to encourage you to hold firm to your faith and be committed to your service to the Lord. Always strive to seek the face of God in everything you do. As we are challenged in the book of Ecclesiastes 11:10, remove sorrow from your heart, and put away evil from your flesh. “Have all the fun you at the right time, but, for heaven’s sake, do not commit sin!” (Don Bosco)

Beloved Crusaders, be reminded that you’re not only the future, but a special gift to the church and the society. You are the light of the world and therefore, let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Always live exemplary lives in conduct, in speech, in love, in faith and purity”.
*Eeverything you do in life should reflect the goodness of God.*

As commanded by St. John Bosco, be humble and patient in everything you do, and the Lord Jesus will give you the will and the means.

We wish you with sincere affection a Happy Feast of Don Bosco and a Successful Diocesan Assembly ahead.

SAY NO TO STIGMATIZATION, DISCRIMINATION AND RACISM.

MILITANT PETER AMOS SELLU.

As the coronavirus ravages the world, there are other diseases I want to draw our attention to. They may spring up during or after this period of anguish and disaster.
They are the disease of Stigmatization, Discrimination and Racism. These are also global issues. They have been in existence even before the CO-VID19 but are sometimes dormant until a situation of such nature arise.
These are issues if not properly handled, will have a lasting effect on an individual's social, emotional and mental well-being. Therefore I want to urge us all, to stand up now and fight against stigmatization, fight against discrimination and fight against racism along with the covid-19. It is now that infected victims and survivors of the Covid-19 need our love, care, respect and support than ever.
It is/was not their wish to be infected, but the will of the Lord must be done.
This is a difficult and tough time in their lives. But it is not the end. So let's not make them feel that way. Let's not make them experience hell on earth.
As a member of the Y.C.S, I believe that every human should be treated with dignity and respect irrespective of the status. As everyone is worth more than all the riches in the world, they deserve our utmost attention, respect, love, care and support.
As patriotic Sierra Leoneans, let us all collectively work and fight against things that will promote the long existence of the Covid-19 in our country and the world. Let's unite and exhibit love to one another then we can defeat the Covid-19.
I believe where their is respect, unity, love and care, their is always strength, success, growth and development.
Let me work a simple mathematics for us to understand.
Stigmatization + Discrimination =
Trauma.
Trauma=social and emotional depression=Mental imbalance(madness or insanity).
Hence as Sierra Leoneans,
Let's rise up now and say
No to Stigmatization,
No to Discrimination.

Stay safe and save our land campaign launched at the Government Sec. Sch Kenema by SLYCS.

Coronavirus is real and deadly...

Maintain social distance

Avoid public gatherings

Practice respiratory etiquette

Don't touch your eyes, nose, mouth, ears with an unwashed hands.

Avoid close contacts with people who are sick and show signs and symptoms of coronavirus disease.

Cover your mouth and nose with your elbow or a tissue when you cough or
sneeze and throw away the used tissue.

 Avoid sharing dishes, glasses, bedding and other household items if you're sick.

 Stay home from work, school and public areas if you're sick, unless you're going
to get medical care.

 Avoid taking public transportation if you're sick.

If you develop symptoms (fever, cough, and trouble breathing), seek medical advice.
Call the toll free 117, OR visit the nearest government health care provider/facility
for adequate medical attention.

If you have a chronic medical condition and may have a higher risk of serious illness,
check with your doctor about other ways to protect yourself.

Finally, look up in the sky and call on God for divine intervention. For thus says the
Lord, “I will save those who love me and will protect those who acknowledge me as
Lord. When they call me, I will answer them; when they are in trouble, I will be with
them. I will rescue them and honor them. I will reward them with long life; I will save
them.” (Psalm 91:14-16)

Let’s pray for our land and save the world. Thus says the Lord of our God, “when I
shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the
land, or send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by my name
humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
(2 Chronicles 7:13-14)

Now is the time to take action in order to serve humanity and save our land.
