You might assume that these children come from wealthy backgrounds, but that’s not true. Our school has empowered them, instilling a belief not only in God but also in their own potential. Their transformed mindset gives them the appearance of children from affluent families.

Excessive sugar consumption can have several negative effects on the body, especially as we age. Here are some dangers of sugar in the body, particularly after the age of 40:

1. **Weight Gain:** Consuming too much sugar can lead to weight gain, which can increase the risk of obesity and related health issues such as diabetes, heart disease, and joint problems.

2. **Increased Risk of Type 2 Diabetes:** A diet high in sugar can contribute to insulin resistance and increase the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, especially as we age and our bodies become less efficient at processing sugar.

3. **Inflammation:** High sugar intake can lead to chronic inflammation in the body, which is linked to various health conditions including arthritis, cardiovascular disease, and even cancer.

4. **Accelerated Aging:** Sugar can contribute to the process of glycation, where sugar molecules attach to proteins in the body, leading to the formation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs). AGEs can accelerate the aging process and contribute to age-related diseases.

5. **Cognitive Decline:** Some studies suggest that a diet high in sugar may be linked to cognitive decline and an increased risk of conditions like Alzheimer's disease, particularly in older adults.

6. **Increased Risk of Heart Disease:** High sugar intake can raise blood pressure, increase triglyceride levels, and lead to the accumulation of visceral fat around organs, all of which are risk factors for heart disease.

It's important to maintain a balanced diet and limit the consumption of added sugars, especially as we age, to reduce the risk of these negative health effects.
