The Works of Mercy are charitable actions by which we come to the aid of our neighbor in their spiritual and bodily needs. They are a practical way of living out Christ's commandment to love God and love our neighbor.
"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink..." (Matthew 25:35)

Provide food and assistance to those who lack the necessities of life.

Help those who are in need of clean water and basic care.

Provide clothing and necessities for those who lack proper shelter and protection.

Welcome and assist those who have no home or are in need of refuge.

Care for the sick, the elderly, and those who suffer physically or emotionally.

Remember those who are in prison and offer them prayer, encouragement, and support.

Show respect for the deceased and comfort those who mourn.

Lovingly encourage others to turn away from sin and return to God.

Respond to difficulties and offenses with patience and Christian charity.

Imitate God's mercy by forgiving those who have wronged us.

Offer compassion and support to those who are suffering or grieving.

Remember others in prayer, asking God to bless the living and grant eternal rest to the faithful departed.
The Works of Mercy are not optional acts of kindness. They are concrete expressions of Christian love and a reflection of Christ's mercy in the world. By practicing them, we serve Jesus Himself in our brothers and sisters.
