*_Today at the SLFA Secretariat, President Babadi Kamara unveiled three major football development projects aimed at transforming the game in Sierra Leone._*

1. The acquisition of a new SLFA Secretariat. By September, the Football Academy will operate solely as a *TECHNICALCENTRE*, while the SLFA Secretariat officially relocates to the new administrative building.

2. The construction of a 435-seater pavilion at the Football Academy. A project valued at approximately $250,000 and generously donated by the President to the FA.

3. The FIFA Arena Project. This project will see the construction of modern football pitches at Albert Academy and The Bo School, providing improved playing facilities and opportunities for young football talents. The project is expected to extend to more schools across the country in the future.

Reference: “Addressing Allegations and as well Protecting pupils of Queen of the Rosary School Bo”

Shalom fams,

As teachers at Queen of the Rosary School (QRS), we feel compelled to accurately address the recent events surrounding the serious allegation against a colleague teacher, Mr. Sahr Jacob Mafinda, who has been accused of sexually harassing a pupil. This situation has not only caused distressed among pupils and staff but has also led to a broader conversation that we believe needs to be addressed.

We acknowledge the gravity of the allegations and the negative impact it may have had on the school and the staff. However, we are deeply concerned about the comments made by visitors, more especially the annoying and irritating one othered by the Education Minister 2️⃣ , Madam Mamusu, during recent engagements. While we understand the need to address such serious issues, we believe that publicly shaming all teachers in front of the pupils and some other stakeholders, many of whom had no knowledge of Mr. Sahr Jacob Mafinda’s actions, is both unfair and counterproductive.

The suggestion as staff of QRS should bear the shame for the actions of one individual has left many of us feeling like scapegoat. We are dedicated professionals who strive to create a safe and nurturing environment for the pupils. It is painful to be associated with such an ugly situation when many teachers of QRS were unaware of the misconduct occurring.

We urge all front-liners, prior the phenomenon on ground to approach this situation with sensitivity and understanding. It is crucial to focus on supporting the pupils and ensuring that they feel safe and heard, rather than casting blame on those who were not involved.

We remain committed to working collaboratively to address the needs of the pupils and to uphold the values of integrity and professionalism the school represents. Together, we can foster an environment that prioritizes the well-being of pupils whiles also supporting one another as teachers.

In Loving Memory of Mrs. Sunata Massah Koroma

It is with heavy hearts that we gather to honor and celebrate the life of our beloved Mrs. Sunata Massah Koroma, who graced this world from May 22, 1989, until her peaceful transition on August 24th, 2024. A cherished daughter, sister, friend, and dedicated member of Queen of the Rosary School (QUROSA) Bo, Mrs. Koroma’s legacy will forever remain etched in our hearts.

Mrs. Koroma was not only an esteemed old girl of QRS, but she also exemplified the values of compassion, resilience, and dedication that the school instilled in her. Her time as old girl of QRS marked by academic excellence and a commitment to uplifting her peers, which laid the foundation for the remarkable woman she became.

On Saturday, August 24, 2024, family members, friends, and a cross-section of teachers and old girls of QRS (QUROSA) gathered to pay their final respects. The atmosphere was filled with love, remembrance, and gratitude as they shared stories of Mrs. Koroma’s kindness, her infectious laughter, and her unwavering support for those around her.

As she was laid to rest on the Saturday 24 August, 2024, we were reminded of her vibrant spirit and the countless lives she touched. Her commitment to education and empowerment inspired many, and her legacy will continue to inspire future generations.

Mrs. Sunata Massah Koroma was a beacon of hope and strength, and while we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may we carry forward her light in our hearts.

To her family, we would like to extend our deepest condolences. May you find comfort in the love and memories you shared with her. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Students at Queen of the Rosary school in Sierra Leone 🇸🇱 are diving headfirst into the world of technology with a new computer literacy program. The school recently introduced a new curriculum that focuses on teaching students the basics of computer science and programming.

The program aims to equip students with the skills they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world. Through hands-on activities and interactive lessons, students are learning how to use computers for research, communication, and problem-solving.

“I think it’s important for our students to have a strong foundation in computer literacy,” said Principal Sister Ingozi. “Technology is such a big part of our daily lives, and we want to make sure our students are prepared for the future.”

The school has partnered with local tech companies to provide resources and support for the program. Students have access to laptops, tablets, and other devices to help them practice their new skills.

“I love learning about computers,” said SSS2 Art Room 2 Maria. “I want to be a computer programmer when I grow up, and this program is helping me get there.”

The computer literacy program is just one of many initiatives at Queen of the Rosary school aimed at preparing students for success in the 21st century. With a focus on STEM education and hands-on learning, the school is committed to providing students with the tools they need to excel in an increasingly competitive world.
