SSVP Christ The King

SSVP–CTK Conference serves our Friends-in–need living within the Ang Mo Kio boundary of the parish. Our spiritual advisor is Rev Fr John Khoo

Conference meetings are held on every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 8pm in the room 109, Christ The King Church. Ration Day are held on every 1st Saturday of every month between 11.30am to 2pm.

20 May 2026 Wednesday Lunch Ladle

54 residents from one room rental flats in Ang Mo Kio attended our Wednesday Lunch Ladle. They enjoyed the game and dance / exercise before the meal.

Our menu included Hokkien noodles , french beans prawn paste chicken wings , prawn rolls , mushroom omelette , and our home cooked soup. Dou suan , kueh kuehs and fruits were our dessert.

The residents also enjoyed the music played by Jerry while they had their lunch.

13 May 2026 Wednesday Lunch Ladle

Today we celebrated The Feast of our Lady of Fatimah by singing " Praise her with a Flower " and also
"世上只有妈妈好" as Mothers day was just over.

More than 50 residents from one room rental flats in Ang Mo Kio turned up today.

Our WLL volunteers specially prepared fried rice with chicken cutlets , sunny side up , otah , mixed vegetables , sweet and sour fish and old melon soup. Grass jelly with longans oranges and honeydew melon were served as desserts. Simple meal that cooked and served with love and care. All dishes were sponsored either by parishioners or our very own volunteers.

Each one of the residents was also given a snack pack to bring home , which consists of a bun , a banana , biscuits and cookies.

Our wednesday lunch ladle has become a weekly gathering place for these one room rental flats residents in Ang Mo Kio. They enjoy the food , the activities , the fellowship and our befriending.

We gathered once again this May in church to warmly welcome both our returning and new FINs for a time of fellowship and a hearty shared meal.

Our FINs took time to pen their petitions and thanksgiving. We also enjoyed a time of nostalgic songs and singing, celebrated our May birthdays, and came together in prayer.

They were treated to a comforting meal, including homemade mushroom soup lovingly prepared by one of our Vincentians, along with baked beans, vegetarian soup, and bread. This was followed by a satisfying Western meal, and waffle ice cream for dessert.

Thank you for the donations and support everyone! We greatly appreciate the continued support!

29 April 2026 Wednesday Lunch Ladle

Today we have a special guest - Fr Jude from Sri Lanka. Fr Jude is visiting Singaore and heard about this outreach program. He spent the whole morning with us and even taught all of us a sri lanka song.

Today's menu include Kong Bak pau, fish in thai saurce , curry chicken , minced pork omelette , winter melon soup , fried beans sprout with tau kwa , bo bo cha cha , nonya kueh kuehs.

The friends in need enjoyed the BINGO game and also the chair exercise.

22 April 2026 Wednesday Lunch Ladle - 2nd Anniversary Celebration

We started this CTK outreach program on 17th April 2024. It has been 2 years since then. We only had about 20 residents who joined us back then, and today we had 50 came to celebrate with us.

Popeye Singapore had kindly sponsored us 50 sets of 2 pc chicken Meal ( 2 pcs of chicken , a regular Mash potatoes, and a bottle of mineral water) . The residents from the one room rental flats in Ang Mo Kio really enjoyed it.

As a special way of celebrating our 2nd Anniversary, our dedicated team of volunteers decided to sponsor all the dishes such as Home cooked Fried Bee Hoon, Chicken Satay, Home cooked Sayoh Lodeh, Home cooked soup, Home cooked sambal eggs, Otah , The anniversary cake, home cooked cheng tng with peach gum as well as the fruits platter. Every resident was given a snack bag to bring home , which consist of a mango, ang ku kueh, and a cup cake. All items in the snack bags were also sponsored by our very own volunteers.

Msgr Yim came to join in the celebration. "Happy Birthday to WLL" was sung and he also blessed the WLL family.

Special thanks to the CTK Alpha Strummers Team , they came to celebrate with us by playing music and had sing a long sessions with the WLL family.

The whole canteen was filled with joy and love. We sang, dance and had chair exercise.

18 April 2026 Funfare and Talent Time for
SSVP- CTK Friends in Need

"Christ has Risen! A Celebration of Joy!" is the theme for this event.

3 buses and 3 handicap vans left CTK and arrived at Agape Village at 10.30am.
We welcomed all our friends in need and also the student leaders from Our Lady of Good Counsel Primary Schhol. The girls were at the event to serve and befriend our Friends in Need.

Our FINs went round the 6 game booths.
They tried their best “to aim, to shoot, to throw, to dip and to test their memory". These games brought back their old times memories. They really enjoyed the games and collected prizes for their "hard work".

We shared with our FINs the significance of Easter in our Catholic Church. Together with the IJ girls we sang “Because He Lives" followed by Msgr Yim blessing the event.

FINs were then served with a spread of buffet with drinks and dessert. The IJ girls really did a great job here in serving the FINs especially those who are on wheelchairs.

Talent Time - the main highlight of the event! Participants came well dressed and tried their best to sing and dance.
Prizes were awarded to top 3 winners and the participants were all given consolation prizes.

While waiting for the results to be announced, the IJ girls performed a song and a dance.

It was such a great celebration!
FINs danced together with Vincentians and the IJ girls. The whole event ended with all singing together "His Majesty".

It was very tiring for all of us to plan and organise this event. However, all the efforts were worth it when you see the joy in our FINs.

Thanks to all our benefactors, with your continuous support to SSVP-CTK, we are able to organise events like this to share the Easter joy to the under-priviledged.

15th April 2026 Wednesday Lunch Ladle

Close to 50 residents from one room rental flates in Ang Mo Kio joined our Wednesday Lunch Ladle today. Some came early to help with the set up of tables and chairs. Laying the table cloths as well as arranging the cutleries on the tables.

One brought rendang chicken and another brought curry chicken to share with their fellow friends.

Everyone participated in the game and chair excercise. They chatted happily while having their lunch. Many have found new friends while attending this program.

Thanks to all our WLL sponsors ( in cash or in kind) . Your continueous support to this outreach program allow us to provide warm , comforting family style lunches in our church for the under-priviledged . Through our befriending efforts, these residents are able recognise that the church is a place where they find love and joy.

8th April 2026 Wednesday Lunch Ladle

Happy Easter to everyone ! We are back in action after the Holy week.

Today we had all dishes specially prepared by our very own WLL Chefs. Our team planned the menu, went marketing, prepared the ingredients and cooked the meals with love and joy. All for the one room rental flats residents to enjoy a warm and comforting family style meal.

We had game and chair exercise before the meal. We took the opportunity to share with the residents about " Easter". We sang " Easter song" before our prayer before meal.

It is heart-warming to see the residents participating in the games and exercise. They enjoyed the home cooked meals so much. Many of them came forward to ask for second serving of our Lotus Root Soup.

Wednesday Lunch Ladle program is all about befriending, and bringing the love and joy into the lives of the under-priviledged.
