Hope is Surrender
Psalms 39
Psalm 39:7
And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.
1 Peter 5:6
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
We need to realize what we need in order to surrender to God. Realize our inadequacy. Then God becomes real and we draw near to Him.
1. Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God -
yield to God.
Jacob wrestled with God.
God held him and Jacob tired himself in struggling.
God touched his hollow of the thigh, the sensitive part. Genesis 32
God directed Jacob to voluntarily submit to Him.
Surrender freely.
1 Peter 5:6-7
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: [7] Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
We want blessing from God but we need to ask in faith, believing Him.
2. Exalt you in due time.
When is due time?
It will come.
David was in ashes, mourning. He had to accept it and get on with his life. Abraham had a silence from God for 4 years. He disobeyed God and had Ishmael.
Moses could not enter the promised land. The promise from God will be in due time. Focus on things above.
Acts 3:19
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
3. Cast all our care upon Him for He careth for you.
Hope in God.
Surrender ourselves to God. Don't worry, trust Him.
God has a purpose for us.
To live is Christ and to die is gain.
Psalm146:9
Happy is he..whose hope is in the Lord his God.
Fix our eyes on Jesus.
Hope in God.
Yield to Him.
Proverbs 3:5,6
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
God has unlimited time but we dont. Don't waste time.
Yield to Him.
Humble ourselves to God.
He will lift us up. Hope in God.
Keep the faith!
