* RULES *
- As a Christian community, we are committed to speaking the TRUTH in LOVE, offline and online. "...speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ." Ephesians 4:15
"If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal." 1 Corinthians 13:1

- If you choose to "Like" this Page, you have the responsibility to ensure that your posts and comments remain civil and reasonable. It is advisable to pray before posting/commenting. "To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the LORD comes the proper answer of the tongue." Proverbs 16:1

- Constructive discussion is encouraged but not personal attacks or emotional rants. "The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly." Proverbs 15:2

- Agree to disagree if necessary; at times restraint from responding to an instigator is much more effective than a reactionary response. "He will turn their own tongues against them and bring them to ruin; all who see them will shake their heads in scorn." Psalm 64:8

- Anything that you post will be observed by the Admins, and may be subject to moderation.

- Posts and comments that are untruthful or unloving in word or spirit may be removed at any time, with warnings issued.

- Persons who persistently post or comment in an untruthful or unloving manner may run the risk of being permanently banned from this Page. "From the mouth of the righteous comes the fruit of wisdom, but a perverse tongue will be silenced." Proverbs 10:31

For Christians in the marketplace, the workplace is both a mission field and a testing ground.

Christians are not immune to toxic workplaces. Drawing on Scripture and practical wisdom, this article written by Vivienne Ng explores how believers can survive the pressure, revive their workplace culture and ultimately thrive as Kingdom witnesses in the marketplace.

Vivienne Ng is Director and Senior Consultant Clinical Psychologist at the Psychological Research and Evaluation (PRE) division of the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF).

Peace be with you. And also with you.

Dr Judith Laoyan-Mosomos shares with us, "To share the peace of Christ is to lay down our pride and our tendency to judge. It is to open our hearts—to God, and to one another—and to grow into a spirit of openness and a willingness to embrace others."

Dr Judith Laoyan-Mosomos is the Director for Worship & Church Music at the Methodist School of Music and a member of Kampong Kapor Methodist Church.

2 Corinthians 5:18 says, "All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation."

This June, Bishop Philip Lim calls fellow Methodists to "hold the conviction that God's prevenient grace reaches every life, inviting sinners into repentance and restoration". Reconciliation, he reminds us, is both a sacred call and a practical one. It begins with humble listening — crossing generational divides and differing convictions with attentive speech that seeks understanding over argument.

Bishop Lim grounds this call in hope: the resurrected Christ reconciles the world to himself, and the Church is entrusted with that same ministry. As Wesleyan people, personal holiness and social holiness cannot be separated. Our congregations are called to practise grace, active listening and sustained justice — and in doing so, become living signs of God's reconciling reign.

Reconciliation is both a sacred call and a practical task for the Church, rooted in the gospel and shaped by our Methodist heritage.

The June issue of Methodist Message is out!

FEATURE | Attachment styles and conflict response

Attachment Theory was introduced by Dr John Bowlby in the 1960s but has been gaining recent attention. This theory proposes that one’s attachment style can influence how they experience and resolve conflict. Benny B**g shares his views on how our Christian faith could intersect with an understanding of attachment styles to foster more secure and loving relationships.

FEATURE | Toxicity detox

Toxic work environments are commonplace—it could take the form of a callous leader, stressed organisational systems or just unhealthy interpersonal relationships among colleagues. This article explores how Christians can rely on Scripture and Kingdom principles to navigate a toxic workplace, revive its culture and even thrive as God’s witnesses in the marketplace.
