Happy Parents’ Day & Mother’s Day to all our wonderful parents and caregivers 💐🙏

Deeply grateful to Bhante for the beautiful and heartfelt Dhamma talk today. The sincere sharing by our seniors touched many hearts and even brought tears to some of us. ❤️

A big thank you to Bro Meng Wei, Bro Chee Hua, and Bro Ler Kang for your dedication and effort in making this Parents’ Day celebration so meaningful and memorable for all of us. 😊

May we continue to cherish, honour, and care for our parents with gratitude, kindness, and compassion every day. 🙏✨

“𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝟔 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧, 𝐚 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝?” 🌸

Sister Serene’s journey reminds us that Dhamma is not separate from daily life — it is the anchor through motherhood, leadership, challenges, and joy of building a community.

✨ 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥, we curated a space to reflect upon Dhamma practices we can all apply:

1. 𝐁𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 : our children and loved ones remember our presence more than us striving to be flawless

2. 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 : choose gratitude instead of feeding worries and negativity.

3. 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 : pause and respond with care instead of reacting with stress.

In a world that pushes us to do more, may we remember:

“𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞.” 🙏

Thanks Sis Serene Ong for your kindness and generosity. May you continue to grow in your Dhamma practice and thanks for being so open about still working on “letting go“. Our very first in conversation series for us to remain humble & supported as we continue on the path one step at a time.

𝐒𝐁𝐌 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝟑 𝐌𝐚𝐲

Rain or shine, today’s SBM walk became a gentle reminder of Dhamma in action. 🌧️

As Bhante shared, life is just like the weather — unpredictable and beyond our control. We can’t plan everything, but we can learn to accept what comes, trusting that there are always blessings within each moment. The umbrella we carry is like the protection we already have, and the Dhamma is what shields us through life.

Despite the heavy rain, hearts stayed warm. Thank you Bhante, Sis Teng Teng, Brother Chee Hua, Brother Zeming & Brother Meng Wei for organizing and to everyone for your presence and perseverance. Even with a shorter route, the experience of walking together in nature was truly refreshing and joyful. 🥰

May all of you be well and blessed with Dhamma. Sukhi Hotu 🙏

Grateful to sis Siew Fong for beautifully concluding the Kalama Sutra series 🙏✨

Here are some reflections we are bringing with us in our daily practice:

🪴 Staying mindful of the 3 unwholesome roots — greed (lobha), hatred (dosa), and delusion (moha)
🪴 Cultivating awareness of their absence
🪴 Nurturing the 4 sublime states — loving-kindness, compassion, appreciative joy, and equanimity

Meditation reminders:
🪴 Balance ease with effort
🪴 Be fully present with what is, instead of what we wish it to be (contentment)
🪴 Every meditation — whether it feels “good” or “bad” — is still a good meditation

Deeply thankful for the wisdom shared throughout this journey and Sis Cheryl & Eve for the generous facilitation 🌿💛
