| Retreat is not an Option!

Do you have your armour on?
When we apply all of God’s precepts, we put on the full spiritual armour.

Put on the full armour of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armour of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.
Ephesians 6:11 (AMP)

The Breastplate of Righteousness protects our spiritual heart.

What is the Heart from a Biblical Perspective?
The Bible teaches that the heart encompasses our inner being and God vacuum (spirit) as well as our thinking, choosing and emotions (soul).

True righteousness comes from Christ alone

We are all sinners and only made righteous in God’s sight because Christ imputed His righteousness to us.

He made Christ who knew no sin to [judicially] be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God [that is, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a right relationship with Him by His gracious lovingkindness].
2 Corinthians 5:21 (AMP)

Although we are now made righteous, we still need to choose to live life God’s way.

We are called to live a righteous life which expresses gratitude to God for our salvation.

The opposite of righteousness is iniquity. When we continue in repeated, entrenched patterns of sinful living, we walk around with a damaged armour and give the devil a chance to attack us.

To live in righteousness is not to be perfect but to a posture of humility and live in repentance like David.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right and steadfast spirit within me.
Psalm 51:10 (AMP)

Armour On | Retreat is not an Option!

Have you got your armour on?
Putting on God’s armour means putting on His precepts. His laws, principles and truth are meant to guide and protect us in our spiritual battle.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐝’𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬.

The belt is often seen as basic because it does not protect or aid in attack, but our foundations are absolutely critical in this battle.

We need the Belt of Truth because the enemy is the father of lies.

“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32 (NLT)

𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐝’𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡.

When we choose to live out God’s truth, God promises to personally protect us!

Psalm 91:4 (NIV)
He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

Meanwhile, the enemy works overtime to tempt us into sin to move us out of God’s protection.

The belt holds the scabbard and breastplate so the soldier is free to hold the sword and shield. In the same way, truth sets us free to allow us to stand our ground and go on the offensive.

We need to embrace the whole truth and not cherry pick those which are convenient to believe.

Let’s make a choice to put on the belt of truth and live a life of personal integrity!

| Armour On
Retreat is not an Option!

Scripture is clear that every believer is involved in a spiritual conflict with Satan. We are to be ready for this spiritual war.

Ephesians 6:10-12 (NIV)
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

The enemy controls the world by influencing and dominating the minds of Man, but we are far from helpless. The devil has been defeated and we have complete victory through Jesus Christ!

God has given us everything we need to WIN and take territory. We need to spiritually bear arms and be ready.

Ephesians 6:13 (NIV)
Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

We need to be strong in the Lord and the power of His might, put on God’s complete armour so we can successfully resist all modes of attack.

𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐧?

Each of us has a mission to fulfill, but the enemy will do everything to prevent us from fulfilling our call. Our responsibility is to prepare by training ourselves with our armour on, so we will be able to stand our ground and be on the offense.

𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫, 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧!

| Most of us want to live to a ripe old age. But it’s not how long we live, but how we live that matters.

God has given us each an allotment of time. While we don’t know how long that will be, we can choose to live wisely every day.

Psalm 90:12 (NIV)
𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘥𝘰𝘮.

#1 There is cumulative value in investing small amounts of time over a long period.

Just like exercise or spiritual disciplines like reading the Word, the true value is only realised after a consistent series of deposits.

For example, spending 30 minutes at the gym consistently is more effective than spending an entire day at the gym once in a long while.

#2 There are almost no immediate consequences for neglecting any single instalment of time.

“Just one time”is how we talk ourselves out of doing what matters. But the accumulation of many “one times” eventually leads to neglect.

#3 In the important areas of life, you cannot make up for lost time.

For instance, our health and relationships require small, consistent deposits of time. If we neglect them, those opportunities may be lost forever.

While we cannot make up for lost time, we can decide what to do with our time going forward.

Ephesians 5:15-16 (NIV)
“𝘉𝘦 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯, 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 - 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢𝘴 𝘶𝘯𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘦, 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘭.”

Our value system will always be challenged by the world’s system. If we’re not careful, culture will always lead us to spend time on things that have no eternal value.

Instead, we ought to make the most of our time by investing it in what truly matters. So let’s renovate our beliefs and choose to live wisely!
