I Must: The Heartbeat of Kingdom Evangelism
Jesus said, "I must preach the Kingdom of God" (Luke 4:43). In Mark 1:38, He also said, "Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come."
These words reveal what was truly in His heart.
Think about it—one of the clearest signs that a person is alive is a heartbeat. Our hearts do not beat only when we feel like it or when it is convenient. They beat continuously because that is what they were created to do.
In the same way, the Gospel is the lifeline of God's Kingdom. Jesus said, "The words I speak are spirit and life" (John 6:63). Just as blood carries life throughout the body, the Gospel carries salvation, healing, freedom, hope, and restoration.
But what happens when the Gospel stops with us?
Just as the body cannot survive without blood, people cannot experience spiritual life without hearing the Gospel. That is why Jesus said, "I must." He understood the value of every soul and the urgency of the mission.
Jesus did not keep the mission to Himself. He invited His followers to continue it, and that calling still applies to us today. We are called to share the Good News wherever God has placed us.
Without the Gospel, people remain spiritually lost. They continue searching for purpose, truth, and identity in the wrong places. They may never come to know the God who created them or the hope found in Jesus.
This message reminds us that heaven is real, hell is real, and people cannot believe in a message they have never heard. That is why silence in the Church is dangerous.
The heartbeat of the Kingdom is evangelism. A church can have great programs, worship, and buildings, but if people are not being reached, something important is missing.
Evangelism was never meant to be seasonal, it should be part of our everyday lives.
Jesus said, "I must preach."
The Church should say, "We must go."
The heartbeat of Jesus was never comfort, popularity, or staying where it was safe. His heart was always focused on reaching people and advancing the Kingdom of God. As His followers, that should be our heartbeat too.
The Gospel is more than information. It is Heaven's rescue mission for humanity. Sharing it is not just for pastors or leaders, it is a responsibility for every believer.
And for those who hear the Gospel, there is also a response required. If God is speaking to your heart, do not ignore His voice or harden your heart. Repent, believe, and follow Him while His grace is available.
The tragedy is not only when someone refuses to share the Gospel, but also when someone hears it repeatedly and never responds.
May our prayer be that we must carry the same heartbeat as Jesus, a heart that cares for souls, shares the Gospel, and responds in obedience to advance God’s Kingdom.
