"In 1505, Pope Julius II commissioned Michelangelo to build his tomb. Located in the Church of S. Pietro in Vincoli in Rome, it is most famous for the marble statue of Moses. It depicts the Biblical figure Moses with horns on his head. Michelangelo felt that the statue was his most lifelike creation and legend has it that when it was completed, Michelangelo struck the right knee of the sculpture with a hammer commanding it to speak." Michaelangelo died 456 years ago, today.
