He took the five loaves and the two fish, looked up to heaven, and blessed them.
Matthew 14:13-21
A great crowd came to Jesus, bringing with them the sick, the blind, the deaf, the dumb, the lame, the maimed, the demon-possessed, and those afflicted with various diseases, which no physician or physician could cure. Jesus healed them. When evening came, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the people away, so that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food.” But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away; you give them something to eat.” Now where will we get enough food for such a large crowd? Even if we order someone to cook food at once, it will take time. Now the disciples began to think, “Where will we get enough food for such a large crowd?” The disciples said to him, “We have nothing here except five loaves and two fish.” He said, “Bring them here to me.” Jesus said to his disciples, “Bring them here to me, and send the people away to the land.” But tell the disciples to sit down. The disciples did not know what was going to happen next. They did as the Lord Jesus Christ had commanded them. They brought the five loaves and two fish to the Lord Jesus Christ. Then he took the five loaves and two fish, looked up to heaven, blessed them, broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples. The disciples gave the people and everyone ate and was satisfied. They picked up 12 baskets full of the leftover fragments. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children. Now here is something to think about. The Lord Jesus Christ tried to teach the disciples that God has the power to meet our every spiritual and physical need. When we pray to God with faith, He will definitely hear our prayers. He will save all the sick from their diseases without any medical report, without surgery, completely treating them first, and then feeding them. So my friends, you will not find such a doctor anywhere in the world who can both treat and feed them for free, that is, both bread and herbs are from our Lord. There is no one like Jesus Christ in the world, neither in heaven nor on earth nor under the earth, and there is no one as holy and great as him. And those who ate the meal were only five thousand men, without children or women. And if we include children and women, it becomes a very large group of about 15 to 20 thousand.
