A team from UNICEF Pakistan, led by Acting Representative Melissa Corkum, met with Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, Mr. Ahsan Iqbal, ahead of his departure to the Global Caregivers Forum in Madrid later this month, where Pakistan will be represented as a champion country for advancing parenting and Early Childhood Development.
The exchange reflected UNICEFโ€™s strong collaboration with Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives in elevating parenting support and aligning national leadership with efforts to give every child the best possible start in life.

โ€ŽThe Bible reveals two distinct resurrections, each with a different purpose and outcome. Understanding the difference helps clarify Jehovahโ€™s arrangement for heaven and earth.

The First Resurrection
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe first resurrection is described at Revelation 20:4-6. It is a heavenly resurrection to immortal spirit life. Jesus Christ is the first to be raised in this way, being called โ€œthe firstborn from the deadโ€ (Colossians 1:18). Those sharing in this resurrection are chosen from among mankind to rule with Christ as kings and priests during his Thousand-Year Reign. Over them, โ€œthe second death has no authority.โ€

The Second Resurrection
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe second resurrection refers to the general resurrection of mankind to life on earth. Jesus spoke of this when he said that โ€œall those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come outโ€ (John 5:28-29). This resurrection includes โ€œboth the righteous and the unrighteousโ€ (Acts 24:15) and takes place under Christโ€™s Kingdom rule. Those raised are given the opportunity to learn obedience and gain everlasting life on a restored earth (Psalms 37:29).
โ€Ž
โ€ŽIn summary, the first resurrection is a limited, heavenly resurrection to immortality, while the second resurrection is an earthly resurrection offering mankind the chance for everlasting life.
โ€ŽThe two resurrections are not contradictory; they are complementary:
โ€ŽThe first resurrection produces a heavenly government.
โ€ŽThe second resurrection restores obedient mankind to life on earth.
โ€ŽTogether, they fulfill Jehovahโ€™s purpose to unite โ€œthe things in the heavens and the things on the earthโ€ under Christ (Ephesians 1:10).
