A Muslim brother challenged our apologist, Dr. Ap Joshua, claiming that Christianity contains Gnostic ideas. This led to a formal debate between Dr. Ap Joshua of CDA and Muslim debater Adnan Solangi sahab. The debate took place at Haqooq-un-Nas Foundation in Lahore. About two years ago, in a mosque in Islamabad—the capital of Pakistan—we the CDA team was engaged in a debate with a Muslim Scholar when Adnan Rashid, a well-known Muslim debater, arrived. He seemed surprised to see us actively engaging with Islamists in the very heart of Pakistan.

For context, we have been participating in such debates with Muslims across the country since the 1990s.

Had a wonderful session with Dr. Jay Smith today at CDA's Apologetics & Missions Course.

He equipped our students with ten mission methods and provided deep insights into apologetics and polemics in engaging Islam.

He also highlighted how the Church often approaches these areas differently, offering thoughtful reflection on its posture and practice.

Muslims claim to love Jesus. What they truly love is the Qur'an's version of Jesus. But that version is a perversion, a heretical version, of the real Jesus. They just don’t know that it is. I'll take the Jesus preached by his apostles, the Jesus that appears in the kerygma in 1 Corinthians 15:3-7 and elsewhere throughout the New Testament. That version is a far more credible version of Jesus than what we find in the Qur'an, which was written 600 years after Jesus and has no contact with the eyewitnesses.
